The most difficult part about writing for me is editing. Once characters are in your head, they are part of your life until their story is told to their satisfaction. Sometimes that means you see their day-to-day lives and you want to tell their entire story. Unfortunately, a novel needs to move toward an end and once in a while a really great scene has to be set aside for the sake of pacing.
This deleted scene landed toward the beginning third of Fate’s Calling.

The world would be a better place if we made space for people to be who they are. It would be better if there weren't quite so many terms that divide us. We need to give people the space to shine and grow on their own time, in their own way. We need to make room for everyone. The flip side of that is people need to learn to be comfortable and powerful in their skin instead of deriving power from siphoning it from others....
