A 2023 goal I have is to gain confidence in my graphic and UX design skills. In order to hold myself accountable to actually create and practice, I’m going to make an effort to share more digital designs here.

One of the reasons I love this time of year is because my mailbox explodes with love and holiday cheer. This is a logo I designed for a greeting card company, Just Because.

I designed this a couple years ago as part of a Graphic Design program ! This logo design is for a dream I once had of starting a greeting card company. Growing up, my siblings were away from home so my mom always encouraged me to mail them cards regularly. Sending and receiving mail to stay in touch with them was one of my favorite things! Tech has made it easier to communicate & stay in touch, but there is still something about receiving a card in the mail that always brings a different kind of joy.

The JB brand hoped to reinvigorate the greeting card business in a modern way with the belief that sending love in the mail doesn’t have to have a purpose, it can be Just Because! JB desired an edgy logo to capture the attention of a younger generation.

After many iterations of this design, I purposefully chose the typography and envelope visual to align with the JB business goals and portray the style of stamps and postage.

It’s been about a year since I took my first pottery class . I always wanted to learn & finally started the journey. None of them are perfect, but I still love them all. Each starts the same, as a simple ball, & then takes shape into something new, unpredictable and beautiful. Get messy. Try something new, something you’ve been wanting to learn. Now is the time!
