We are excited to announce that UpSurge Baltimore and TEDCO have won the SBA’s Regional Innovation Cluster Network Award!
This significant funding will support for Equitech, our ecosystem-wide program for commercial readiness and startup advancement, with up to $1.8 million over the next five years.
This contract for services will enable us to improve regional coordination activities with the Baltimore Tech Hub’s Entrepreneur Support Organization (ESO) Network partners, scale the pipeline of entrepreneurs participating in curated UpRise Build sessions, and provide much needed hands-on resourcing for founders and navigation through the Bmore Tech Connect platform.
Additionally, on September 9, 2024, the Economic Development Administration (EDA) launched a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for Build to Scale (B2S), a $50 million program. The EDA expects to make 40 to 50 awards, with expected awards ranging from the low hundreds of thousands up to $5 million.
UpSurge is currently seeking partnership and funding matches for Build to Scale ahead of the October 28, 2024 submission deadline. Our proposal centers around creating a more connected and diverse angel network for early-stage investment as well as creating a pipeline of potential investors to participate in UpRise programs.
