Once again MIA...there's a lot going on and its been hard to catch a picture or even the brain capacity to write a post.

🦅 Little Bit survived our first hawk attack. She has been recouping in the office since Thursday. Shes much better but still wobbles a bit when walking. NURTI DRENCH to the rescue. Blueberries 🫐 too

❄️ The yard has become a mud pit PELLETIZED BEDDING from TSC saved the day this weekend.

🥚 While I was heading back inside something caught my eye...eggs laid under the mini coop. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Trash eggs. But the ladies are starting to earn their keep and laying!

🌸 Dahlias were pulled from slumber and lost more than half. 🫩 and most reputable Dahlia sellers have closed sales for the season. I found one so far. BUT my pal in MA might be a saving grace.

🐥 The babies came a day early! Day old babies from OH. Healthy and loud!

The trial and errors of the season have started. But those lead to the tried and true. 🌱

The end of fermentation reminds me of the moon 🌕

Our mead is just about ready...stabilizer to be added and honey to s***k up the sweetness.

Honey + water + yeast = mead

1. The Mix (The Must)
​Whisk honey and water together.
​✨️ This creates a sugar-rich solution called a "Must."
​🌻 You're prepping a sweet home for your yeast coworkers.

​2. The Ferment
​Add yeast and seal with an airlock.
​✨️The yeast consumes the glucose/fructose, producing ethanol and CO_2. The airlock lets gas out while keeping bacteria out.
​🌻 Your tiny buddies are busy munching and "burping" bubbles.

​3. The Finish
​Wait for the bubbling to stop, then let it clear.
​✨️As fermentation ends, the yeast goes dormant and settles at the bottom. Aging allows the flavors to mellow and clarify.
​🌻 Then your preference of flavor to infuse or leave as-is. (There's a bit more to the ending process)
