At TOHEFCU, we are currently seeing various scams where criminals are attempting to collect members’ personal information. Criminals could call or send text messages or emails pretending to be from the TOHEFCU fraud department. The phone number can be spoofed/faked so it looks like it is coming from the TOHEFCU Main phone number of 516-867-4730. A text or email will provide a phone number to resolve an attempted fraud on your account. When you call this number, the criminals will request login credentials to your online banking profile. If access is given, the criminals can transfer funds out of your accounts through various products.

We ask our members to remember the following:
•Only call TOHEFCU via the phone numbers available on our
website www.tohefcu.org. We will list these numbers at the end of
this email. If you have an uneasy feeling hang up and call the
Credit Union back at 516-867-4730.
•Do not share credentials or provide one-time passcodes to anyone
who is not authorized to have access to the account.
•Never click on links in unsolicited emails or texts.
•If you receive a text, call or email for a one-time passcode
authorization that you did not request, you should not respond to
the text, call or email to validate the login.
•You should never trust caller ID! Caller ID may be modified to
show the Credit Union’s name.

TOHEFCU will NEVER ask you to share the following:
•Verification codes, usernames, or passwords.
•Your debit or credit card PIN.
