As you know, the most common type of NIV is a B visa, which can be used for visits such as tourism, seeing family and friends, or medical treatment. If an applicant is seeking medical treatment in the United States, the consular officer may ask for the following at a visa interview:

· Medical diagnosis from a local physician, explaining the nature of the ailment and the reason the applicant needs treatment in the United States.
· Letter from a physician or medical facility in the United States, stating they are willing to treat the applicants specific ailment and detailing the projected length and cost of treatment (including doctors fees, hospitalization fees, and all medical-related expenses).
· Proof that the applicants transportation, medical, and living expenses in the United States will be paid. This may be in the form of bank or other statements of income/savings or certified copies of income tax returns (either the applicants or the person or organization paying for your treatment).

We see some applicants who have already obtained medical treatment in the United States, and applied for public assistance through the Medicaid program to pay for that treatment. An application for Medicaid ýrequires the beneficiary to document an impoverished situation requiring US taxpayers to provide financial support. #1 REASON WHY TOURIST VISA APPLICANTS FAIL
TO PASS THE INTERVIEW TEST

The applicant fails to convince the embassy's interviewing officer that s/he will return to her country on or before the expiration of any authorized stay.

Contrary to what many people believe, the embassy would like to grant the tourist visa to the applicant. Why? Simply because doing so benefits the American economy. For example, the applicant will purchase an airline ticket; spend money when in the U.S.; etc.

So you may ask yourself: If the embassy would like to grant a visa to the applicant, why is it that many applicants are not approved? The reason is simple: U.S. federal law instructs the embassy to consider every applicant for a tourist visa to be an intending immigrant. That is, the embassy assumes that the applicant's intention is to remain in the United States; that the applicant will not return home. The effect of this assumption is to shift the burden of proof on the applicant to demonstrate to the embassy that s/he will return home on or before the expiration of any authorized stay in the U.S.

Typical questions the embassy staff may ask:

What is the purpose of your visit?
How long is your visit going to last?
Do you work and, if yes, what kind of work do you do?
Do you have money to cover the cost of your trip?
If no, who is paying for your trip?
Do you have any relatives or friends in the U.S.?
What relatives do you have in your country?

Here are some general guidelines to follow:

You must be prepared. (Our law firm fully prepares its clients.)

Relax and minimize nervousness. (For example, think of a place in your country that you love to visit.)

Make good eye contact.

Give short and relevant answers.

Exude confidence and honesty.

Show respect, or, to be more precise, respectful intellectual equality (RIE).

Remain calm and self-assured even if the interviewing officer seems to be "in a bad mood" or that he or she is "out to get" you.

Always remember that the interviewing officer is not against you. He or she is simply doing their job.

Dress nicely and make your personal grooming attractive, but not distracting. Remember: Do not overdo it.

Never assume that the embassy does not know a particular fact about you or a relative. So, be prepared to explain if asked.

And, most importantly, do not act as if you are begging, or as if your life depends on getting that visa. (Remember that place in your country that you love to visit?)

Our law firm helps clients who want to get a tourist visa to visit the U.S. We have been helping clients to obtain visas for well over 10 years. Best of all, the client does not pay if the client does not get the visa.

Here is a quick review of the visa process
a) Temporary visit for business or pleasure

c) Visa processing fee (about $160)
d) Passport photo in electronic format
e) We prepare the client

How much do we charge?
For our law firm to represent the client, we charge a small processing fee and a contingent fee. The non-refundable processing fee is $350. The processing fee covers the cost of courier, telephone, postage, document assembly, preparation, etc.

The contingent flat fee of $2,500. Contingent simply means that if the client does not get the visa the client does not have to pay us. Period. We make this great offer because we have a simple motto: We are not satisfied unless our client is 100% satisfied.

Some clients choose to deposit the full contingent fee with us. However, that is not necessary. We normally simply require a deposit of only half.
