The Terrible Herbst "Landshark"

(also known as El Tiburón) is arguably the most dominant and iconic vehicle in off-road racing history. Built in 1995 by Mike Smith for the legendary Terrible Herbst Motorsports team, this machine shattered the mold of traditional desert racing. It single-handedly created the "Truggy" category by blending a Class 1 unlimited buggy tube chassis with the front-engine, solid rear axle architecture of a Trophy Truck.

Today, we’re throwing it back to the legendary patriarch of McMillin Racing, Macey L. "Corky" McMillin Jr. 🏁

Long before the massive Trophy Trucks we see dominating the course today, Corky was in the dirt, building not just a racing team, but a multi-generational legacy that changed off-road motorsports forever.

For 29 seasons, Corky was the heart and soul of off-road racing, securing three SCORE Series Championships and multiple overall victories.His passion for the sport was unmatched. He literally lived and breathed racing right up until his final lap in 2005.

Decades later, his sons and grandchildren are still dominating the trophy truck class and keeping the McMillin racing dynasty flying high at the finish lines.
