Last night we celebrated @birchandbrassrentals as they invited friends to their new warehouse and showroom. We provided some passed bites, this spread of snacks, and @taymowbur did the floral installations. We will be reminiscing on this night for a while...

We are so honored to team up with our favorite vintage rental company, @birchandbrassrentals for their open house! Come by tomorrow evening for some farm to table bites from us, a luscious cheese and meat spread, as well as a killer dance party!

The story of olives. Texas Hillcountry resembles parts of the Old World this time of year as harvests of olives, grapes, figs, and pomegranates are collected. These olives will find their way into a salt bath where they will cure for several months before arriving to a cheese board next summer.

Our favorite combination of textures, flavors and colors: Smoked Pumpkin & Carrot Soup. A soft dab of beet purée and house made yogurt create tastes of subtle earth and tangy cream melting in the warmth of rich pumpkin and carrot. Tis the season, indeed.

Grilled Lockhart Quail from Texas Quail Farms. This course is inspired by the ever so slight changing of the season in Texas Hillcountry. The temperatures are no longer soaring, but beginning to creep into lower digits. Butternut squash is plentiful in central Texas farms. Pomegranate trees are wild with ripened fruits. And, of course, we always add a touch of green from our local micro green grower, @joesorganics.

On my morning walk, I stumbled upon a forgotten pomegranate tree tucked in a silent courtyard of the local Catholic Church. This wild looking pomegranate tree was laden with ripe fruit. Behind the tree was a soft stone carving of Mother Mary - always watching out for us.
