The results of my food sensitivity testing with @peoples_rx are in! And the journey continues. I’ve been working with Dr. Amy Nelson at Peoples (she’s amazing!) and for detailed information you can watch this 16 minute video….but here’s a nutshell version of what we’ve found: I have a leaky gut and my tissue is angry and touchy 😡. I also have an overgrowth of yeast in my entire GI system. Gluten and dairy ARE NOT MY FRIENDS. In fact if I keep eating gluten I’m headed toward a celiac diagnosis. And all I wanted for Mother’s Day was queso 😩 oh well…gotta get ‘em outta my life. Other high irritants were beef, chicken eggs, garlic and ginger, beer, wine & brewer’s yeast, pastries, bread and mushrooms. I’ll be eliminating those for 8 weeks then we’ll reassess and see if I can reintroduce any of it back into my life. Foods I can enjoy are chicken, turkey, lamb, pork, bison 😍, venison, elk, chia seeds, stevia (the ONLY sweetener that doesn’t feed yeast), any fish I want, legumes, nuts, vegetables and fruit. By eliminating certain foods, and adding supplements for a yeast cleanse, the goal is to heal my gut and rebalance my GI ecosystem. Honestly I feel a little overwhelmed at the thought of giving up so many things I like (ok…love!) but the idea of feeling and looking better is stronger than my fear or inhibitions over making changes. I’m now armed with the information and tools I need…next steps are reading my labels, making the right choices and watching for results and positive effects. Stay tuned…of course I’ll be taking you along!
