My jewelry features antique, vintage and modern treasures that I have been collecting for many years — including old-world Czech Bohemian glass beads, iridescent glass buttons, crystals and gemstones.

I infuse these dazzling objects d’art into spa My fashion jewelry line is noted for its vintage character and timeless appeal. Using rare vintage crystals, tiny antique iridescent beads and crystal glass buttons made with up to 200 year-old molds, my creations recall grand historical eras of the past, yet do so with contemporary flair.

General information

In 2002, I was working as a waitress, searching for my muse. Schooled in fashion merchandising, metal-smithing, and photography, I, like many artists, found that I had to put my creative aspirations on hold in order to work the proverbial Austin “day job.”

One day, just for fun, I redesigned a tattered heirloom, a once-elegant multi-strand la Belle Époque necklace, into several dazzling contemporary pieces. When I wore these necklaces -- fashioned from what I would discover were very rare-turn-of-the-century Czechoslovakian glass beads – to work, my restaurant regulars were dazzled by the sparkle and alluring history of the beads and clamored to buy them right off of my neck.

Greatly surprised by the response, I launched a quest to find more of these intriguing baubles and, in the process, learned about bead and crystal quality and jewelry craftsmanship. Two years later, I was able to quit my day job and devote full time to creating Cynthia Bloom Collectible Jewelry.
