Austin Energy Spa

Mind-body movement, rooted in ancient Chinese Medicine principles. that will balance the mind, body, Medical Qigong is a unique healing modality that helps bring balance to the body through mind-body exercises or one-on-one table-work sessions.

You can think of it it like acupuncture without the needles! Gentle exercises are performed, moving blood and qi in the body, providing relaxation and pain relief. During table-work, particular points on the body are either lightly held or brushed to facilitate the movement of energy.

Happy Spring Equinox! Today we begin turning our energy outward, embracing new beginnings, growth, and expansion. For some, seasonal changes can cause low energy, health issues, and /or strong emotions.

Take time to rest, eat green and sprouting foods (green leafy veggies, radishes, green onion, lemon), and take gentle walks in nature to move the Liver energy and enjoy the beauty of spring!

Happy Fall Equinox!! I know many people dread the end of summer and the start of fall, but this is my favorite time of year. It's time for cooler weather, cinnamon, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, cozy warm drinks, crispy leaves, cool evenings lounging on the sofa with a soft blanket! The ultimate cozy time!

This is a great time to nourish the Earth and Metal Elements by eating root vegetables, orange vegetables, white vegetables, warming spices, and soups. I am already breaking out the cinnamon, turmeric, sweet potatoes, and pumpkin! Throw in some turnip or cauliflower to support the Lungs and you've got yourself an immune boosting meal! πŸ‚β˜•οΈπŸ

During these stressful times, the Liver (Wood Element) in Chinese Medicine can get agitated, creating frustration, anger, and stress. The Wood Element is also represented by the color green. Surround yourself with beautiful green plants, trees, and nature to help relax the body and mind.

If you can't go anywhere, find photos or videos of forests and green spaces. Put your hand on your abdomen, under the right ribcage (over the Liver) and breathe deeply, imagining the beautiful green place.

β€œJust when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly.”

"Just When The Caterpillar Thought the World Was Over, It Became a Butterfly"

Sometimes what appears to be a bad situation is really just the process of transformation. If we stay the course during life's obstacles, we will only come out stronger and more beautiful in the end, like the butterfly. Wishing everyone a safe and happy week. 🧑

During these tough times, when we can't physically go out or get together with people, it is a great time for introspection and getting in touch with who we really are. So often, the search for happiness involves looking outside ourselves, when it is actually comes from within.

Instead of being sad about what we can't do right now, let's celebrate what we CAN do, that maybe wasn't a possibility before. We are able to spend more time at home with our pets, children, and loved ones. We have so much more free time to pursue relaxation and personal interests. We get a break from the 9-5 stress of a regular in-office job (and that includes commuting!). There is also a new sense of unity uniting the entire world, never before present. It is a surreal experience to know that literally everyone in the world is experiencing the same thing at the same time!

Wishing everyone peace, safety, health, love, and happiness during these stressful times.

We are born with the task of pursuing happiness in life. While it isn't always easy, it is possible if we focus on the journey, rather than the destination.

Wishing everyone a restful, restorative, and peaceful winter solstice, whether you are preparing for the holidays, celebrating, or taking a much needed break.

While celebration is a joyous activity, the darkest day of the year is also a great time for reflection and going inward. Rather than getting lost in the dark, this is the time to realize that WE ARE THE LIGHT!

This is why light plays such a big role during Christmas and Hanukkah. Let all the pretty outside lights be a reminder of your own inner light and amazing self! βœ¨β„οΈπŸŒŸ

Wishing everyone a restful and restorative fall equinox. Time to start the journey inward, harvesting and preparing for the cooler, slower days ahead. Looking forward to pumpkin, cinnamon, cozy candles, and maybe a fall leaf or two (not as many here in TX!) πŸ‚πŸπŸ₯§πŸŽƒ 04/10/2019
