2023 THN Case Manager of the Year Awardee - Rick Allison

Congratulations to Rick Allison for winning the 2023 Texas Homeless Network Outstanding Case Manager of the Year Award. Rick Allison started at Ellis County Homeless Coalition (ECHC) as a homeless outreach volunteer, rising to an advisory board member and then onto the Executive Team of ECHC as the Outreach Manager. He is now responsible for putting together a team of volunteers to walk individuals through the process of improving the situation they find themselves in today as being homeless or soon will be. From having a limited team of outreach volunteers with little documentation in early 2022 to having put in place a solid team with a strong documentation platform electronically in June 2023, Rick has done a tremendous job in bringing a sense of solid and consistent accomplishments in fulfilling the mission of ECHC. We are proud to work alongside you, Rick!

2023 Outstanding Outreach Worker of the Year Award - Tammy Chan
Congratulations to Tammy Chan of the Grand Prairie Homeless Outreach Organization - GPHOO (GPHOO) for winning the inaugural Outstanding Outreach Worker of the Year Award. The award was created in memory of Jen Hellow, a well-respected, long-time Outreach Worker. As a full-time volunteer with lived experience, Tammy and the GPHOO volunteers work hard, smart, and as creatively as possible to end homelessness in Grand Prairie. Their approaches to ending homelessness include programs like a daily meal delivery program modeled after the Robin Hood Army meal program in India, a Recycle That Bicycle program for transportation, and a Clean Camp Program where participants clean legacy camps to earn positive job referrals, community service credit and credit towards utility bills once housed. With Tammy's innovative approach and dedication alongside the GPHOO team, Grand Prairie has seen a 29% reduction in unsheltered homelessness over the last four years. We are so proud to work alongside you, Tammy!
