Endeavor Rehab Center Fourpoints is a locally owned and operated Hand and Physical Therapy Clinic located at the corner of 2222 and 620 behind Walgrees.
Endeavor Rehab is a locally owned chain of therapy clinics in the Austin area.
Endeavor Rehab Fourpoints features seasoned manual physical therapists and a certified hand therapist. A manual physical therapist combines her expertise in exercise with joint manipulations and mobilizations to help improve allignment. A certified Hand Therapist is an Occupational or Physical Therapist with a minumum of 5 years of experience in just the upper extremity who sits for an additional board test. Both types of therapists are considered to be master clinicians. While most therapy requires an MD prescription and is covered by insurance, we do offer a cash pay option and free screens to help people navigate their next best move. Therapy is traditionally for post-operative or post-injury care but can also encompass preventative measures, educations, ergonomics, joint protection, balance, and pain management. It is a good idea to have a physical therapist check out your exercise program before going to a personal trainer and in many cases, a consultation with a physical therapist is cheaper and will help prevent injury.

[04/01/20] Endeavor Rehab Centers are going to start offering some Telehealth appointments next week. For hands, I can't really do splint making or wound care remotely but we are all going to try and see if we can do some things this way. Let us know how we can help you! my P.T.s do realize that chronic pain doesn't go away during a pandemic. If anyone needs us the main number for all our locations is (512) 284-7192 or fourpoints is (512) 467-4546. We need to schedule telehealth appointments ahead of time for privacy issues. If you do need to come in, we are not seeing anyone who is ill or who has traveled recently from a high risk place. Patients are spaced one at a time and the usual cleaning process between people are still being practiced. I do have masks for anyone who would like one while being treated.

Texans No Longer Need a Referral to be Treated by a Physical Therapist!!!!!!
Austin—Beginning September 1st Texans who want physical therapy for an injury or pain management can now access their Physical Therapist without having to first go see a physician, or other healthcare provider.
The Texas Legislature earlier this year passed HB 29 by Rep. Ina Minjarez (D-San Antonio). HB 29 allows Texans to seek the treatment they need without the delay and expense of having to see a physician first. People can now go directly to their Physical Therapist and be treated for up to 10 business days (15 in some instances).
“Many issues that patients have can be treated, and exercises that can be done at home can be demonstrated, within the two weeks that a patient can now see their Physical Therapist,” said Mike Geelhoed, PT, DPT, MTC, OCS, President of the Texas Physical Therapy Association. “In cases that are going to require a longer course of treatment, Physical Therapists will know that within a visit or two and can begin the scheduling process with a physician to get a referral for the more extensive treatment.”
“This is great news for patients across the state who can now seek treatment from the most appropriate healthcare provider. Patients can now come directly to us and don’t have to wait for an appointment and pay for an office visit with their primary care physician or orthopedist just to be told they need physical therapy,” noted Dana Tew, PT, DPT, FAAOMPT, OCS, Vice President of TPTA.
On September 1st Texas becomes the 49th state to allow patients Direct Access to Physical Therapy. Other states have repeatedly shown the benefits in terms of both positive patient outcomes and financial saving. Texans will now see those benefits as well.

[04/07/16] so I have been reading up on lateral epi this week (otherwise known as tennis elbow). While overall the research is pretty mind-numbing, I did learn that this diagnosis was first described in 1873 and was associated with lawn tennis. I am not sure what lawn tennis is but at any rate, thought that was an interesting little tid-bit!

Medicare Therapy Caps and Manual Medical Review for 2016
This article addresses the 2016 Medicare caps for outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy, together with the cap exceptions, manual medical review process and proper use of ABNs in connection with the caps.
For 2016, the therapy cap for occupational therapy (OT) is $1,960 and the separate from OT, but combined cap for physical therapy (PT) and speech-language pathology services (SLP) is $1,960. For example, 2016 payments for a patient’s combined PT and SLP services cannot exceed $1,960 unless an exception to the cap applies. As discussed in detail below, exceptions to these caps are allowed for reasonable and necessary therapy services.
In addition to the $1,960 caps, therapy services costing above $3,700 for OT and $3,700 for PT and SLP combined are subject to manual medical review.
The therapy caps and manual medical review apply to Part B outpatient therapy settings.
For purposes of determining whether the caps are reached, Medicare includes all amounts paid for therapy services by Medicare and by the patient for any deductible and coinsurance. If Medicare is the secondary payer, the secondary payment is applied to the therapy caps.
The therapy caps and manual medical review do not automatically apply to patients covered by Medicare Advantage plans. Providers and patients should check the MA plan for coverage rules on therapy services.
