Stantec does a lot of traffic studies, is this the beginning of congestion based exodus, gentrification of businesses or do they want to be closer to autonomous vehicle pilot programs?
Either way I think we need to build Wire One to preserve the commercial growth potential of downtown Austin!

Urban Cable is mentioned in an article I wrote about Overhead Transit for New Cities: My article on Overhead Transport has been published in the new cities blog: https://newcities.org/perspectives-future-proofing-transportation-the-missing-opportunity-for-our-cities/

!!! ACTION NEEDED !!!
We need enthusiasts of The Wire to participate in the Cap Metro Project Connect Corridor Surveys! This can have a meaningful role in bringing Urban Cable Mass Transit to Austin. So much so you should recruit others to participate.
These surveys will help direct the funds from the newly passed Transportation Bonds. Key corridors align with our mission.
The process is a little bit confusing. Here is a guide.
Taking the survey requires 3 steps:
1. Create an Account. You can skip this step if you have created an account with capmetroengage.org before.
Unless you have answered these before, you must establish an account before you can answer the survey.
Go here to create an account with capmetroengage.org: https://goo.gl/xzYPkf Fill out the forms. You will be sent an email. Answer the email. Now go to the survey page. https://goo.gl/iGnnjB
2. Login Before you take the survey.
Start at the Corridors Survey here: https://goo.gl/iGnnjB If you are not logged in you will see a yellow block below the first paragraph on the page telling you to login or create an account. If you don't see that block you are already logged in, goto step three. If you see that block click on login. Follow the instructions to enter email and password. Pay Attention: After you log in you will be directed to a different page. Your path back is to click on "Choose The Corridors" this will return you to the survey.
3. Take the Survey
Scroll down, read the questions and answer them with the checkboxes next to the maps or below the maps. There are three parts to the survey:
The commuter Corridor. The Airport Line is a corridor we support. Choose others that interest you.
The Connector Corridors. This is the Most Important Question. South 1st & Ceasar Chavez are very important to Wire One. North Lamar is also interesting to us. Riverside is particularly interesting to us. Choose another one that interests you.
The Circulator Corridors. The South Congress Circulator is of particular interest.
Participation Opportunities | CapMetro Engage All current participation opportunities are shown below. Choose the one you want to participate in and click to see the engagement activities for that opportunity.
