Miles of Chocolate

I saved his half dead infected life from severe wounds and certain death caused by deep feral cat bites,
…and he literally melts into Joe.
I take him to Lowe’s, fishing, Starbucks, and even to my book writing spot on the Appalachian Trail,
…and he crawls into my disabled brother and sleeps the deepest of rests.
I feed him, bathe him, cut his nails, grind his medicines, even make him smoothies,
…and he thinks Joe is the Opossum God.
I kiss him, love him, nap with him, and slip him honey-roasted peanuts,
…and he and Joe do a nightly Vulcan Body meld.
I make him Possum Pate’ and scrumptious delights, walk him nightly, and can’t wait to kiss his nose,
…and within two minutes of Joe they’re like a statue carved from critters.

My 18-year-old daughter was at Starbucks, alone, the other night. A man came up to her and started talking to her. A barista handed her “an extra hot chocolate someone forgot to pick up.” How grateful I am for people who look out for other people!
Side note: She felt safe and did not remove the lid, but let them know. She said the whole team was watching over her the rest of the time she was there.💚 Thank you to the team at Starbucks on Staples and SPID in Corpus Christi.

The Golden Gate Bridge, one of the most iconic landmarks in the United States, celebrated its 50th anniversary in 1987 with much fanfare. The festivities included a grand parade, fireworks display, and a number of musical performances. However, the highlight of the event was the estimated 800,000 people who flocked to the bridge to join in the celebrations. This was a remarkable turnout, considering that the bridge was designed to accommodate a maximum of only 50,000 people at any given time.
The sheer weight of the crowd caused the bridge to sag by as much as seven feet, an unprecedented occurrence that sent shockwaves throughout the engineering community. Despite concerns over the structural integrity of the bridge, no damage was sustained and the celebrations continued without interruption. The event was a testament to the enduring popularity of the Golden Gate Bridge, as well as a testament to the resilience of the structure itself. Today, the bridge remains an iconic symbol of San Francisco and a must-see destination for tourists from around the world.

Black Quadruplet Brothers, Who All Attended Yale, Just Graduated.
Black quadruplet brothers Aaron, Nick, Zach, and Nigel Wade, aka The Quad, aka The Wades, graduated at Yale together, but most importantly, developed their individuality.
The four small-town Ohio brothers did everything together and knew the same people for most of their childhood.
Aaron earned a double major in computer science and psychology. Nick received a degree in political science and a minor in Arabic. Zach majored in chemical engineering and economics. Nigel completed his study in molecular, cellular, and developmental biology.

THIS IS A KEEPER!
It happened at a New York Airport. This is hilarious. I wish I had the guts of this girl. An award should go to the United
Airlines gate agent in New York for being smart and funny, while making her point, when confronted with a passenger who probably
deserved to fly as cargo. For all of you out there who have had to
deal with an irate customer, this one is for you.
A crowded United Airlines flight was canceled. A single agent was re-booking a long line of inconvenienced travelers.
Suddenly, an angry passenger pushed his way to the desk. He slapped his ticket on the counter and said, "I HAVE to be on this flight and it has to be FIRST CLASS."
The agent replied, "I'm sorry, sir. I'll be happy to try to help you, but I've got to help these folks first; and then I'm sure we'll be able to work something out."
The passenger was unimpressed. He asked loudly, so that
the passengers behind him could hear, "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHO I AM?"
Without hesitating, the agent smiled and grabbed her public address microphone. "May I have your attention, please?", she began, her voice heard clearly throughout the terminal. "We have a passenger here at Gate 14 WHO DOES NOT KNOW WHO HE IS. If anyone can help him with his identity, please come to Gate 14".
With the folks behind him in line laughing hysterically,
the man glared at the United Airlines agent, gritted his teeth, and said, "F*** You!"
Without flinching, she smiled and said, "I'm sorry sir,
you'll have to get in line for that, too."
Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain.
