It looks like it's quarantine time for some of our elementary school students. 🤦🏻‍♀️💪🏼Here is a workout I think we should all do today to support them while they are at home. #COVIDworkout

First... Head to Toe stretching. Each movement 10 times or 5x each side. If you do not have an impact training tool (bag or pads) be creative.

10 stretch kicks belt level each leg (20 total), 10 stretch kicks head level each leg (20 total)
10 stretch kicks head level to the side, each leg (20 total)
100 punches (jab-cross) on his big punching bag. 50 each side... so 50 jabs and 50 crosses. Left leg in front.
10 sidekicks on the same bag (lean it against the couch) on each leg. They MUST be head level. 20 total.
30 pushups and 30 situp
20 squats. Lay the punching bag down on the floor. Squat (barely touching the bag) then stand up 20 times. Repeat, but add a front kick. It must be HEAD LEVEL. 40 squats total.
20 line 4 BME strikes (right hand), 20 line 3 BME strikes (left hand). This should simulate the knife hand strike board break.
10 leg lifts and 10 spiderman crawls (5 on each side)
Your form 3 times. Once, slow focused on feet. The second time, slow, focused on hands. The third time, fast and hard.
Stretch series: Thread the needle, butterfly, pigeon, happy baby, frog, double pigeon, lunge.

SAFETY TIPS from Master Palacios
Protect yourself while going out
- Always let someone know where you are going and when you should return.
- Wherever you go, identify where the exits are located
- Be aware of social norms to see if anything seems out of the ordinary (ie someone carrying a rifle into a nightclub as happened in Pulse) if something seems not right evacuate immediately
- Keep your cell phone on you and fully charged at all times.
- Go with people you know and trust. Date r**es usually occur when the couple is isolated.
- If you drink alcohol, understand it inhibits your motor skills and cognitive understanding. Make sure you increase your efforts in avoiding dangerous situations.
- If you are feeling sick or dizzy while out socially, go to someone you KNOW and TRUST. If there is no person you can talk to about your condition, call someone on the phone.
- Never leave alone. NEVER. (The intent of date r**e drugs is to get you alone and then to assault you.)
- If you think you have been drugged and cannot tell or call someone, call 911. A blood sample can be collected and appropriate tests run.
- Trust your instincts. If a situation or person makes you feel uncomfortable, leave. If necessary call the police.
- No means no! No one has the right to violate your space or decision. Stand up for yourself and don’t back down.
- Have fun and enjoy yourself, but be safety conscious.
- Choose your actions wisely and be responsible.
- Try to avoid using outside ATMs in unfamiliar or unsafe surroundings. If you must, be cautious to what is happening around you.
- Never drive intoxicated or with an intoxicated driver. Use a driving service or call a family member or friend
- If you are using a service like Uber, Lyft, etc. Before you get in the car, check that license plate, driver photo, and driver name all match what’s listed in the app. Uber rides can only be requested through the app, so never get in a car with a driver who claims to be with Uber and offers a ride. If you’re riding alone, sit in the backseat. While en route, tap “Share status” in the app to share your driver’s name, photo, license plate, and location with a friend or family member.

Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services

The National Weather service- Austin has issued a Heat Advisory, which is in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to 8 PM CDT this evening.

Heat Index Values are possible up to 110 degrees due to temperatures in the upper 90s, and dewpoints in the lower 70s.

Dangerously high temperatures and humidity could quickly cause heat stress or heat stroke if precautions are not taken.

Drink plenty of fluids...stay in an air-conditioned room...stay out of the sun...and check up on relatives, neighbors and pets.
