Fascinating read. I'm getting ready for total knee replacement, and my surgeon is tremendous about oral health and why NOT to have any teeth cleaned for three months post-op and the need for preventive antibiotics for a year post-op.
Salt Water rinse 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt in one cup of warm water. Pour this into my water PIC and clean my gums. Spit it out. I get some deep pockets in there, trying my best to floss daily but having difficulty controlling my hands. Sonic toothbrush, floss, water pick routine.

YouTube videos I found interesting: Bacteria in our mouth can cause damage to our body. (Sleep Apnea Doctor - great insights). [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0a2SQQ61qag](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0a2SQQ61qag)

Dr. O'Rielly recommends Baking Soda tooth brushing and Salt Water rinse. Interestingly my Dad had great teeth, a farm kid who used baking soda and salt water. Old school method, but effective. My mother used modern toothpaste, and she and my siblings have dental issues. I should have listened to Dad. My brother underwent the old-school periodontal surgery that convinced him to floss daily! I don't wish that on anyone.
I do get my Dentist to clean my teeth every four months. If I go six months, I get bleeding gums.
Anytime you take antibiotics, ramp up your probiotics to keep healthy bacteria in your gut. The sleep doc video covered details, something I have done.
TL;DR: Take care of your teeth. Brush, floss, salt water rinse.

I'd be happy to drop off some letters so members of 413 can send them out. They are addressed and stamped. All they need is a short note that states why you give a damn about Parkinson's.
You can learn more about the campaign and register for the free event here: https://endingpd.org/!
The 413 Boxing and Fitness program here in Central Texas also has a great program for folks with neurodegenerative diseases -- https://413.fitness/413fightclub/
Today’s workout red, white and blue. In between each round they hit something 76 times.
Happy 4th of July. No classes for Independence Day, but you can join your fellow fighters for a pool party in Georgetown. Message me for details

Wow Jimmy Choi - Fox Ninja. Was in tears.

We truly have the best of the best. We were so honored to have graduate student guest coach earlier this summer. Sign up tomorrow for guest coach at our 2:15 North Austin classes. We want to help you

Just wanted to say thank you to for 4 amazing years of wisdom in strength and conditioning training for our North Austin fighters. Jeremy- your wisdom and passion for fitness especially through mobility has blessed not only our fighters but your fellow coaches. You always greet everyone by name and had a complement for every fighter and coach every time I was in your presence. We release you with a blessing into your next adventure. Thank you for everything. We won’t skip a beat at north Austin but will be adding yoga to our lineup so it was a passing of the torch (or key) to our newest Coach Kasey Williams. Kasey brings over 200 hours of yoga training to our fighters and in September will be certified with a NETA speciality in senior fitness. Truly the best of the best coaches in fitness.

Take me out to the ball game!!! Camaraderie and Express both for the big W!!!! 📸 by Cornerman Anita M
A little core work with Coach Lauren. “A strong core keeps you off the floor!” 6 classes today which one are you attending???
“ Look mom, no hands!” Not one, but two pads to challenge stability. People with a movement disorder are very likely to fall backwards so we work balance and stability in all planes of motion.
Look at that smile!!! My favorite memory of the day; Vince turning to our visitors “Thank you all for coming to visit our class”.
Dan schooling one of our DPT student visitors on the art of focus mitts. This is our favorite way to get aerobic and cognitive drills done.

What a great day having doctorate students of physical therapy in the gym yesterday. I’m not sure if our fighters or the students had more fun.

The couple that works out together, stays healthy together!!
Thank you students for help with this weight shifting drill. We can accomplish so much more with the extra hands, literally. ❤️
Did you know today is the first day of ? The has recently revamped the exercise recommendations for PWP and I’m excited to say our fighters were already doing what they recommended. And More. Take this drill for example- aerobics and multitasking! We call out combos and fighters repeat. This beauty came with the added challenge of throwing the opposite punches. That’s why they’re so excited in the recalls! Happy April!! See you in class🥊🥊
PWR stepping through the day. See everyone in class tomorrow!! 5 classes to choose from or check out one of our virtual classes.
If the house is a rocking don’t bother knocking… come on in!!
Can you get a better testimony than this??? I mean she’s only on her first week!! We hear and see results like this over and over again!! What are you waiting for??? Fight back. Now.

Just received this in the mail. Thank you Fighter/Runner Deanna and Ron for thinking of us. I’ll add it to our gym library (when I’m done with it).
This looks like the obstacle course from Purgatory. Good job Coach Robin for this “fun” challenge.

Thank you Coach Shirley for opening your home for our March social and “Dr Dan” for sharing your experiences with having DBS. We have the best community.

Spent the weekend learning from some of the brightest minds in Parkinson’s fitness and getting to apply it this morning on our south Austin fighters.

It was great having Coach Kimberly back in class this week in Georgetown. She has been hard at work on her doctorate on occupational therapy. I wonder new drills she had in her arsenal?!??!
It’s harder than it looks. And it looks hard. Great drill by Coach Lauren to challenge the brain and the body.
Can I just send a shout out to our coaches? They are a little bit of tenderness and a whole lotta kick butt! We love and appreciate each of you. You’re changing lives!!
Our classes are not one size fits all - So. Many. Modifications. One of the reasons we see fighters getting stronger, having better mobility, more confidence is because we offer classes for their fitness levels and then push them just outside their comfort zone. From our young onset Parkinson’s classes to our low intensity mobility-focused classes we have a spot for you to fight your movement disorder.
What is your favorite agility drill? Or maybe I should say least favorite? Love/hate relationship with our agility ladders.

Happy birthday Coach Robin!! You are so loved!! We cannot express how much you mean to our fighters and their families. You have truly been a blessing to so many people. And I know there are some who had their loved ones for an extended period of time because of you! Have a great day! And happy birthday Texas

We offer in person classes 4 days a week but Tuesday is for getting outside and enjoying this gorgeous weather or doing one of our online classes. Find the link in bio. See you in class tomorrow!!!
A little agility. A little cognitive. Two of our thirteen core components. Great drill by Coach Lauren. 6 classes and three locations today for you to choose from. Parkinson’s doesn’t take a day off, neither should you.
