Hey y’all! I am MOVING my practice just down the road to:

4131 Spicewood Springs Rd.
Building I (eye)
Suite 2
Austin, TX 78759

The move will begin August 2nd. So if you currently have an appointment after August 2nd, it will be at my new office right across Mopac from my current location! Yay!

I’m super excited for this change and for new beginnings in a fresh new space. See you there!

07/01/2020

I can’t believe it’s been 6 years since starting my private massage practice. I couldn’t be more grateful for all of my clients, friends, and family who support my small business, financially and emotionally.

Despite our current situation with the Pandemic, and having a slightly uneasy feeling of where I might go from here, I remain excited to see what’s on the horizon for me and my little business.

Thanks to Dr. Patzer and his wife at Austin Life Chiropractic, for the house to build my space and the support, care, and love they have shown me and my business over the years. Best landlords and Chiro’s ever.

Much love and gratitude to all. 😘

What conflicts are happening in your life today? Personal, a relationship, community, global? In all moments we are given a choice. A choice to let the conflict control us and dictate our happiness, or we make decisions to resolve conflicts in our lives. We have some major conflicts happening in our world right now. From how to deal with a Pandemic properly, to racial injustice. How to solve climate change, to how to be better humans to all our human brothers and sisters. And maybe personal physical conflicts like a frozen shoulder or tight hamstring. Do the right thing, always, and make sure you remember that when we can resolve conflict in our lives, whether physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual, we are free to be and to create and thrive. How can I resolve the conflicts showing up around me and within me? It’s a great question I like to ask myself. Help each other and listen to the other side. Listen to your aching hip. What is it saying to you? How are you going to resolve that pain? Or the pain in your relationship or in your community? We have such a great opportunity to heal our people, our bodies, our planet, our minds, we just have to make the decision to do it. Ask your Self the important questions and then listen. Much love.

06/04/2020

Touch is important and feeling safe when you get bodywork is important. I just wanted to let you know I am here to help. Your mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being is important. Reach out if you need bodywork, or need a referral to someone who can help in any way. I want you to have the tools you need to take care. All folks right now, but especially my black brothers and sisters.

There, now isn’t that calming?

05/19/2020

Sometimes self-care or “exercise”, seems daunting. Start small. Go for a 10minute walk. Do some simple body movements. Ride your bike around the block. The point is that you can start anywhere, from any fitness level. Listen to what your body is saying. Slowly work up to doing other things that make you happy. There is no perfect body or best workout style. There is only what is best for you and how you are going to feel your best. Be kind to your Self and simply move...until you can move some more.

The number one question I get asked about Massage Therapy

Are you afraid you’ll get too relaxed on the massage table and “let one go”? Let me ease your mind.

[05/15/20]   UPDATE:

I hope you are staying well and healthy during this time. And guess what, if you are struggling and eating cookies, that's cool too! My wish for everyone is that they feel safe and loved and happy and when we meet again, we can chat about it. (But seriously, if it's rough over there, and you don't have a friend or family to talk to, reach out).

OK, Just a quick (not so quick) update:

It looks as though the new date for Massage Therapy businesses to re-open is UNKNOWN. As of May 12th TDLR, my licensing board, said "closed until further notice. For now I have shut down online scheduling through the end of May. I will check back in a week or so to see where we are with my governing boards, cases, and what is safest and best for us all to return to regular massage appointments. (Just so you can prepare, I'm hoping for that return to be the last week in May or first week in June, but I just can't say for sure right now).

Upon returning to practice, there will be requirements and changes regarding appointment times and protocol. I'm filling you in now so we may all prepare for what's to come.

I will be spreading out appointments to allow for proper sanitizing and cleaning. There will now be 30 minutes between each appointment, so times listed on the scheduling system may look different than you are used to.

I will be seeing less people per day for the first couple of months, to insure everyone gets the care they deserve. Again, this plan could change depending on recommendations by the CDC and WHO.

- Please come to your appointment a few minutes early to fill out and sign a Covid specific intake/consent/liability form. I may be taking temperatures with a touch-less thermometer, but I also hope that if you have any symptoms or feel unwell, that you will not come to your appointment.

- There will be no cancellation fees for cancelling the day of if you feel unwell or have symptoms of Covid-19. There will however, be normal fees for no-showing your appointment without 24 hour advanced notice. You must call in if you are going to miss your appointment.

- Because of the prolonged exposure and inability to social distance in a massage room, masks will be a part of our sessions FOR NOW, especially when face up. I will be wearing a mask and for those who like to talk through our sessions, I will limit talking as it is not comfortable with the mask on. I am not happy about having to make this decision given the therapeutic nature of massage, but it is for our safety.

- I will have hand sanitizer in the room for your use, and encourage you to wash your hands before and after your appointment.

- I will be utilizing the outside door of my room to limit your exposure to the other folks in the front waiting room. This will be your choice. If you need to wash up or use the restroom, using the front office is absolutely fine. I'm just giving you an option of coming straight to the outside door. I will text or call before your appointment to make sure of your preference.

- I'm working on setting up payment through my online scheduling system, and will accept Venmo and CashApp payments so that you may pay virtually to further reduce contact in the massage room. Of course, cash and check are still accepted. (FYI: I will still have my merchant service available in the room. I'll just press all the buttons and sign for you while you are there, so you aren't touching the iPad).

I have added an option to my scheduler: A 15 to 30 minute video chat for you to be assessed, to ask questions and learn more about your body and how it functions, as well as information to help you "Self-Care" better in your life.
- It says $0, but is "Love Donation" based. Whatever you feel led to give is up to you payable at Venmo and Cash App.

You can text 512-744-7483 to schedule that call now. However, I plan on leaving it up as an option for a free consult for new clients, as well as a Self-Care chat, indefinitely.

What we are stepping back into as Massage Therapist and client is not going to look or feel the same as when we left a couple of months ago. My first priority is keeping you all safe, and know that I will do my best to "first do no harm". What I ask of you is to have some understanding. The same love and care and touch will be present in a much more sterile setting that neither of us will be used to.

I am excited to get back to the work that I love, as I'm sure you are ready for some much needed bodywork. I have hope and faith that all will be OK, and we will come together again in the name of health and healing, working together to be better and to feel better.

Much love and gratitude, always,
Megan
