The Polynesian explorer has returned, and this fearless adventurer is stoked to meet your child and/or be booked for special events.
Reached out to the Ronald McDonald house to see if I could volunteer there again. Wish me luck. 🤞

🏝️ Mahalo,
Character Viv
Aloha, friends!
We had a number change last year and realize it has shifted some of our business. We are hoping to cultivate new business this year. We are asking all our friends to save our virtual card. When you hear of somebody needing hula dancers for a luau or special event in the greater Austin area, please share our information.
If you have a business that you would like us to help promote, feel free to drop your virtual business card in the comments below. Let us know what kind of work you’re looking for. We would be happy to keep you in our rolodex if anybody asks us for somebody in your trade.
Mahalo! May we all have a prosperous New Year! 🧧 🐇 🧧

Ipu video part 1. It is just shy of 7.5 min. L1 and L2 were excited to help make this video. Part 2 will be added later in the week. Enjoy!
Update: because of the weather we might have to postpone the posting of part 2. We normally do this outdoors sadly it is very cold and wet. (Not good for ipu making.)

Coming Saturday.... Character Viv and her kids will attempt making an ipu (a hawaiian drum) with a similar, but different gourd. Here on the mainland the swan gourd is easier to find in the fall.
Traditionally, ipu’s are made of the calabash. Which is part of the gourd family. We will include inks for each gourd below.
(This project will be posted in sections and can be lengthy. We will do a live video to describe what is done traditionally and what we will do start. We will also work on combining the video for one stop viewing for our friends that are less patient. That will probably be ready the following week.)
