Y’all 😭 This little Airstream salon in Austin won a pretty big award last night! This salon has been such a special place to share time with clients and do what I love. This recognition from Behind the Chair and some of the best in our industry means so much, but not nearly as much as all of the support you’ve all shown us! Erica, our crazy little idea has come a long way from the beat up old trailer we drove to Houston to pick up in the middle of the night. And Trent (aka Husband of the decade)… this would still be a beat up old trailer if it weren’t for the countless number of hours you put into and continue to put into making this salon something I am so so proud of. I love you so much ❤️

PLEASE VOTE!!! Big news everyone!! flAir Style Lounge has landed in the TOP 25 for salon suite decor in a really big competition. VOTING ENDS TONIGHT!! https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HOTSHOTVOTING2021
EDIT: **If you vote, there are lots of categories. Scroll WAY down to Salon Suite Decor. flAir Style Lounge is #10. You don’t have to go through every category**
I am beyond grateful to be a finalist in such a large competition that includes so many fellow artists that I admire and look up to. It feels so amazing to share this little salon home with the world and have someone else recognize how special it is too. PLEASE VOTE!!

I’ve thought long and hard about this decision, but in the end I am doing what is best for my family and friends that I want to continue to see on a regular basis. Masks will once again be required for all services at flAir Style Lounge.
We are in a very small space, and we are very close to each other during services. This new variant has hit close to home with a very close (vaccinated) family member being hospitalized. While I may not get sick myself, I do not want to pass on this brutal virus to anyone who may be at higher risk.
Thank you so much for understanding, and please continue to do what you fee is best to keep you and yours safe. 😘

Can’t wait to see your smiling faces again! While I know we are all ready to ditch the masks, I’m going to give it another few weeks for everyone to catch up. Please continue to wear your masks for just a little longer. I want to make sure that everyone that enters the salon had a chance to be fully vaccinated if they want to and to feel safe coming into a clean environment until they can. SO SOON! Plus I’ve got some exciting news about blowouts and online booking coming up soon too!

33 weeks today and still able to take 4 color clients in a workday. Thanks for playing nice baby boy so Mama can still do what she loves 🥰.

After taking into serious consideration the guidelines from our city, county, and state, as well as the nation’s leading health officials and salon leaders, WE WILL BEGIN SERVICES ON JUNE 2, 2020 BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. There will be new procedures, precautions, and policies put into place for the safety of our clients, stylists, and families. PLEASE SWIPE THROUGH THE POST TO READ ALL GUIDELINES FROM THIS POINT FORWARD.
As always, email us at [email protected] with any questions that you have.

I’m sure you have all heard the news by now. Governor Abbot announced yesterday that Texas salons are allowed to reopen on Friday, May 8.
While we miss you all very much, after much discussion (over the last several weeks) we will not be opening back up just yet. For the health and safety of everyone involved, there are still supplies that we are waiting on and preparation that needs to take place in order for us to open back up.
We will announce very soon what day we plan to reopen, what new precautions will be put in place, and what the scheduling process will look like. Clients who had appointments booked in March and April will take priority when beginning the booking process. Those of you who have reached out in the last couple months are on our list and will be next in line. If you are wanting an appointment in the next couple of months, please contact your stylist or email us at [email protected] to be added to the wait list. We will be in touch as soon as we begin the scheduling process.
Thank you so much for your patience and understanding through these uncharted waters.

Yesterday my sidekick and I delivered products to lots of my wonderful clients. Porch drop offs only...
As I got back into my car and removed my gloves after the first drop off, something unexpected happened. I started tearing up. The whole process was pretty emotional for me. It was so surreal to see some of your faces through the window, or see you in your yard from more than 6 ft. away, or not even see you at all. You couldn’t see the smile on my face behind that mask because I was so happy to see you. It was so hard to not be able to hug you and catch up for an hour on life and your families.
Instead of letting my emotions and tears put me into a dark place, I prayed for you. I prayed for each house that I visited, and I prayed for every one of you by name while I was driving from destination to destination. I miss you. I miss my job that I love so much. I can’t wait to see you all again and spend time with you.
Please stay safe and healthy so that happens way sooner than later. And let me know if you are in need of any products or have any questions on how to get your hair through this. 😘

Here’s a little sunshine to brighten your day ☀️...well it brightened mine at least. I’m over this cold rainy weather here in Austin.

Happy Halloween! I know it’s late, but I couldn’t let the night slip away without sharing what I’ve been up to this haunting season! On Sunday I had the pleasure of doing a Dia de los Mu***os look for the fabulous Candice Ghai Photography for a workshop she held. Kelly Singh was an incredible canvas once again... I just can’t get over the amazing photographs I am seeing from some of the talented photographers that attended the workshop.

Dimensional fall blondes are my favorite 😍😍😍
A little something to brighten up your Monday. You’re welcome. 😉

Because sometimes you’re scrolling through your photos and come across one that makes you think 🤔 “Why haven’t I posted this one before?” 😂.

When the bridesmaid sits in your chair and says “I want my hair to look like Rachel’s hair at Monica and Chandler’s wedding.”... You grab the bobby pins and think, “This is the moment I’ve been waiting my entire career for!” 😂

Change is good for the soul 🔥.
Going from light to dark isn’t as easy as just slapping on some color. For a rich color that will hold, you’ve got to fill the hair back up with the pigments that were taken out in the lightening process.

This henna journey has been so fun and educational for my client who has a severe allergy to traditional hair colors. Her color evolves and changes, but the blend of the balayage placement keeps everything looking intentional and fresh.

Dimension keeps blondes looking so natural. Don’t be afraid of a little lowlight. I like to place a darker blonde right below a ribbon of brightness to add depth and make that blonde pop 💥.
I’ve also been loving the results of adding some gold into my glaze formulas. It really helps to achieve a natural looking blonde when added to a violet glaze. Gold lets the violet do its job of eliminating brassy yellows, but keeps it from dulling out. Win win.

It’s always exciting to open your inbox to find you’ve been featured on a blog! Thanks Hey Wedding Lady for enjoying this shoot as much as we did!

Wish I could take credit for this gorgeous color, but it is au naturale! I did do a violet gloss to add some shine back into her hair and take some dullness out of her beautiful natural silver. And can we talk about the 6” we got rid of? 😵 Her hair looks so much more full and healthy! This is some serious hair envy.
It’s so satisfying to watch curls being brushed out... or is it just me? 🤷🏻♀️ I’ve watched Kristin Ess Hair videos on repeat because I’m just mesmerized 🤩.
I get asked a lot how to get loose beachy waves that last. Want to know my secrets? 🤫 Using a great heat protectant spray with some hold (like the Kenra Professional Heat Block Spray with a gold level of 22!). Brush through your hair after spraying it on. Then curl your hair using a 1” or 1.25” curling iron or wand (whatever is easier for you to use, I love my Hot Tools curling irons). Then LET THOSE CURLS COOL. Go do your makeup. Get dressed. Feed your dog. Whatever... then BRUSH THE CURLS. Yes. Brush them. This will loosen and elongate the curls and give them that relaxed look you are going for. Finish with a lightweight finisher that addresses whatever your hair needs... Moroccan Oil to tame fly aways, Living Proof Dry Volume Blast to add extra fullness, or Davines Invisible Serum for extra separation and definition. Try it out and tag my in your pics!

Hope your Sunday is as bright as this beauty’s smile! I had the pleasure of doing makeup for a couple of beautiful ladies for their Debutante ball last night. Hope you girls had a blast!
I want to point out her beautiful skin. Skin prep and care plays a huge part in how well makeup looks and stays. Lindsey already takes great care of her skin, and it shows. No one’s skin is perfect, but a good skin care routine helps to pin point and treat whatever issues your skin is having on that specific day. As a professional makeup artist, I have lots of products in my kit to prep lots of different skin types and issues. However, good skin takes time. I can’t fix chronic issues in my hour with you. Drink lots of water and take good care of your skin before your big day!

It’s always fun to have a childhood friend in my chair. Especially when it means 3 hours of catching up and some uninterrupted girl time 😊.

This bridal beauty was glowing on her big day!

🎼 All is calm. All is bright. 🎼 A brighter, icier blonde for the holidays. Winter doesn’t have to mean darker. Just a shift in tone and dimension can bring your hair back into season .
I used a combination of foils and balayage to keep her blonde dimensional while still going lighter using Schwarzkopf Professional and adding Brazilian Bond Builder for the first time! Then I glossed with Redken 9v+ 9n+9p. Suggested home maintenance: amika: purple shampoo and conditioner.

How is tomorrow already December? I’m so ready for all the twinkle lights and sparkle decorations (let’s face it, my house is already covered in all the things)... but I’m just not over these warm, rich, fall hair colors.
This dimensional color was created with a mixture of balayage and low lights in foils. 4N + 6CB was painted onto the roots then blended into a balayage using clay lightener. #1 was added into all formulas. Once rinsed, I glossed all over with shades EQ 6CB. Followed up with #2, #4, & #5 as always. A little protect spray and oil to style using a 1 1/4” curling iron... and voila!
I love warming up blondes for the cooler months! She wanted to stay blonde, but not as bright blonde, plus add some dimension back in. That’s music 🎶 to my ears!
I used babylights to keep everything seamless and blended. Lightened up regrowth with Pravana lightener + 20vol + Olaplex #1. Added dimension with Redken Shades EQ 8N + 9V. Glossed with Shades 8N + 9V + clear. Followed with Olaplex #2, #4, & #5.

I am thankful for so many things today and every day. I am thankful for my family, my faith, and my fur babies most of all. I am also so very thankful for a passion that I can call work and everyone who supports my passion everyday. Happy Thanksgiving to you all!
