What happens to the egg during ovulation after a tubal ligation? Where does it go and how does that effect a woman's body?
Graciasss 😘
Hi I am new to this group and than you for accepting me. Had Essure implanted in 2009 - removal in Jan 2019 by removal of tubes only - however, found out 4 months later that 2.9mm coil and fragment still in my uterus. Since then I have found a new doctor and have consultation with her next month. What questions should I be asking - what options do I have for removal by hysterectomy? I am having increased migraines and pain in my hips which seems to be getting worse. Need these out for good. Help!
Can hormones mess with your heart? Give you pvc's and bouts of really fast heartbeats and then back to normal?
Anyone else having an issue seeing the quiz? I see the circles to click, but no questions. any ideas? Thanks!

Hi Dr. Tassone. I have a woman in my NovaSure Group. The same gynecologist who inserted Essure and then performed NovaSure ablation performed a total hysterectomy and bilateral salpingectomy 3 weeks ago. Just want to mention that no pre op blood work was done prior to the hysterectomy. Her previous surgery was a hernia surgery in 2016. She had an ultrasound prior to the hysterectomy but the gynecologist is claiming that the Essure Coils could have been misidentified as scar tissue. What this gynecologist is stating is that the Essure Devices were sucked out after the NovaSure Ablation. However, she had an HSG which confirmed an Essure placement before the NovaSure Procedure. Th Essure and NovaSure was all done in 2014. Her organs were all removed intact, examined by pathology and x rayed after removal but no coils were found. Is such a thing even possible? Any ideas? TIA
I heard you on The Doctor's Farmacy with Mark Hyman. So interesting. I want to take your quiz, but it doesn't seem to be working on your website.
Happy birthday Dr. Tassone you’re an amazing person who deserves so much as you give so much‼️🎂🎉🎈
Happy BD! May you create massive changes to the next 1 million women.
Happy birthday! God bless you

It’s been proven that those who begin their health journey with extremes are less likely to succeed.

With hormones responsible for controlling every system in the body it doesn’t matter if you’ve tried every diet, workout routine, supplement, you name it… until you start factoring in your hormones, you’ll continue to feel like you’re hitting a wall.

Or maybe you already have? Here’s my advice-

Set goals.

Be patient with yourself.

Allow your body to heal.

And most of all, stay consistent.

You can also find out your unique hormone archetype with my Hormonal Mapping Quiz!

Did you know there are over 30 symptoms associated with menopause and perimenopause?

Thirty!

And yet, most people tend to think menopause is little more than hot flashes and bad moods. No one’s talking about racing hearts, crushing fatigue, dry skin (and va**nas!), and painful s*x.

In fact, women in our society are so unprepared for this transition that almost half don’t know the difference between perimenopause and menopause until they go through it. And even then, almost ¾ don’t talk to their doctors or treat our symptoms!

Ladies, you deserve better.

You deserve to understand our bodies. You deserve to understand your options. And you definitely deserve to stop suffering!

You can and should thrive during and after menopause. And when you’re armed with the right information, you can.

That’s why I’m inviting you to Menopause, Perimenopause & Intimacy, a free masterclass all about preparing for and managing the phases of menopause.

Join me and my friend Dr. Anna Cabeca, along with Dr. Mariza Snyder, Dr. Shawn Tassone, Dr. Lara Briden, and Dr. Kyrin Dunston for an honest and informative discussion where you’ll learn how you can seize this opportunity to optimize your habits and thrive in the years to come.

Could an imbalanced gut be contributing to the severity and/or development of your hormonal imbalance symptoms?

Serotonin is a complex hormone with a variety of functions such as, mood/emotion regulation, memory function, signaling communication throughout the brain and more.

Studies evaluating the natural fluctuation in female s*x hormones during the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, and menopause showed a correlation with symptoms developing and/or intensifying based on an interaction that occurs with serotonin.

With 90% - 95% of serotonin production occurring in the gut, the impacts of an imbalanced gut can be felt throughout the body.

Scroll to see some of the symptoms associated with an imbalanced gut + holistic ways to promote a healthy gut! ❤️

The thing about hormonal birth control is that it actually suppresses natural hormone production.

Depending on how long you have been taking the pill you may experience difficulties getting your hormones back on track once discontinuing.

Consider getting off the pill as you waking your body up after an extended period of shut down, so fueling your body with nutrients allowing it to thrive is essential.

First and foremost have labs drawn. Get your vitamin levels checked and utilize supplementation if needed.

Next, focus on what you’re putting into your body. Try to eat organic if/when possible and add fermented, nutrient dense, fiber-rich food to your diet and avoid sugar as much as possible to support gut health.

I also highly recommend finding a physician that specializes in women’s health with a thorough understanding of women’s hormones to monitor re-balancing.

Cycle irregularities can continue for an extended time when coming off the pill, and even longer for implantations or the IUD, making it important to track your cycle and report changes to your physician. Notate symptoms you experience, duration of me********on, length of cycle, and any changes to cervical mucous.

If you’re on birth control for a reason other than preventing pregnancy or need guidance getting off the pill then this post is for you!

Leave me a ❤️ in the comments if you can relate & make sure you’re following me for more truth about your health and your hormones!

Dropping some truth bombs about supplements-

💣 Your monthly supplements shouldn’t break the bank, there’s plenty of high quality supplements at affordable prices

💣 A lot of supplements are full of filler ingredients which is why you might feel like they don’t work - always read the label!

💣 I saved the best for last, because I see this every single day in my clinic.. If you’re taking over 5 supplements a day, chances are they’re overlapping, therefore not working.

Any of these resonate with you?

Check out my top 3 supplement recommendations for women to help naturally balance hormones, promote whole-body health, boost libido and more!

Be sure to save this post as a reminder for the next time you’re supplement shopping or head over to the link in my bio to place an order through my online physician-grade pharmacy today!

An important comparison.

I share these things because they’re more relevant than many of us like to accept.

For example, a few weeks ago I requested women share times they’ve felt unsupported or unheard by their physician.

You should take the time to read some of the comments, then you’ll understand why I find it so important to share this message and see others like @thewomensdietitian share it with me!

Woman. Wife. Mom. Sister. Daughter. Friend.

Happy thanksgiving

I am thankful for my children and their health and happiness and seeing them grow into mature productive humans.

I am thankful for love and feeling like I am deserving of the love and around me

I am thankful for my career and what it has provided me personally and how it has allowed me to help many. I realize there may be some I couldn't help but for the most part I have met some wonderful people in my career and I am grateful

I am grateful for living in this amazing country and while I realize things may seem crazy we do live in a place where we can make a difference

I am thankful for all of you

Feeling stuck in the vicious cycle we call Burnout? ♻️

Begin eliminating unnecessary stress to the body by making a few lifestyle changes such as-

💤 Regulating your sleep cycle and making sure you get plenty of sleep each night. If you need to rest, then rest. All the things can wait.

🥑 Maintain a balanced, nutritious diet. Adding in dark leafy greens and making sure you consume enough calories daily along with drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated allowing your body to thrive mentally and physically.

📱 Blue light from electronics is perceived as stress to the body. With many of us on our phone throughout the day, giving your eyes a break (especially at night) is important and can also assist with maintaining a healthy sleep cycle.

❤️ Most importantly, allow time for yourself. Whether you enjoy yoga, a nice bath, diving into a good book, or going for a walk, I highly encourage some form of self care daily to boost self love and mental health.

💌 Share the ONE thing that always helps YOU relieve stress in the comments & save this post to reference back to later for more ideas!

What is a healthy va**na actually supposed to smell like?

I came across an article that broke down various va**nal smells into 7 categories they refer to as ‘normal’ such as yeast, copper, fish etc. In my opinion, someone attempting to categorize a ‘healthy’ va**nal smell is fascinating because there are millions of odors, simply because there are millions of women on this planet, each with a unique va**nal PH.

Reality is, the va**na is a closed cavity with a mucous lining filled with bacteria, mostly good and some bad. Depending on the PH of the va**na, the odor will change. However, 95% of va**nal odors are ‘normal’ and for women to be told these are abnormal, in most instances, is ridiculous.

Reasons to raise concern could be an extremely foul odor, or mild odor accompanied by symptoms such as green/yellow discharge, abnormal bleeding, severe itching/burning, or various other symptoms of that nature. In most cases, the va**na can take care of itself. Douching, scented tampons, scented feminine wash etc. is not necessary for va**nal health and can actually throw off the PH of the va**na making it more difficult for it to regulate itself or fight infection.

As Betty White said, “Why do people say ’grow some balls’? Balls are weak and sensitive! If you really wanna get tough, grow a va**na. Those things take a pounding!”

Physicians and woman alike must stop focusing on the smells that come from our bodies and realize that we are human beings and carry bacteria, so no - your va**na shouldn’t smell like flowers 🌸

The Real Truth About Hormones

Hello! My name is Dr. Shawn Tassone, My patients call me Dr T.

Supporting women is my life’s work. I am a double board certified physician in OBGYN with an emphasis on Integrative Medicine. Since my career began, 15 years ago, I’ve helped over 40,000 patients. Listening to their stories with respect to struggling through fatigue, surprise weight gain, and the dreaded decreased libido, etc. My goal is to reach women all around the world, in every stage of life. How do you suppose I do this?

I developed the first integrative hormonal mapping system. How do I find out what your hormone type is? Through a simple online quiz. It’s true, I can teach women not only their hormone type, but how to take back their lives through self-care. Your medical needs as a woman change throughout the stages of your life. Having a trusted physician there for you during your life and then all the way through menopause, can ensure you’re getting the care you need.

Let’s discuss the real truth about hormones. Because this is imperative and deeply important work, I found a way to simplify the discovery for women. My mapping system heals through self-care. Because there is an innate healing capacity within the human body. When we honor our bodies by practicing whole body - mind - medicine, we affect the healing process in a powerful way.
