We said goodbye to our dear Cami, the El Camino today. She’s become a studio mascot of sorts and has brought lots of smiles to lots of people. I purchased the car 4 years ago from my former studio assistant who was moving to Sweden and I told him he could go….but the car must stay 😂. Since then, we’ve dressed her up with flowers, hauled loads of greenery to events, served as a buffet for SXSW Events, a moveable flower bar, and my favorite, escorted couples to their honeymoon hotel after the wedding. We’ve had so much fun with this classic car (even though my 16 year old self would have cringed if I told her I would one day own a BROWN El Camino. Thanks for the memories.

So happy the current owner has agreed to let us take her out for a spin every now and again. Remember to play her My Sweet Lord by George Harrison if she misses her studio home. ☮️ + 💛 Rock on Cami, you were a ton of fun.

The Q***r Eye Prom episode has officially aired and we are so excited to share photos with you. 🎉🎉🎉 It was a huge moment for us to collaborate with the cast and crew of @queereye - a show that’s made such a positive impact and brought true joy to the lives of many. At Gypsy, we celebrate love, acceptance and commend the work this show has done for the LGBTQ 🏳️‍⚧️ 🏳️‍🌈 community and friends & family of. Thanks @queereye for bringing on the heart & soul and reminding us to see the good in people. We are here for that if nothing else.

When we were asked to take on this project, we had about 1.5 weeks to design this color-block concept, order product (huge thanks to @mayeshhouston !!) and fly in 3 members of our A-team (all the way from Dominican Republic, Montana & Florida) to complete the design. This is our crew- these are the people that make things happen through hell or high water…and will sit on the blazing sun, and pouring rain to make sure everything looks perfect. And still laugh when everything is hard. (check out our stories / highlights to see what I mean ). Cheers to a rainbow- colored 2022! Can’t think of a better way to kick off the new year!

Just getting in these gorgeous photos from Stephanie and Rob’s backyard wedding. This is our first time designing on a working swing set and I have to say it was a *stunner* !!! Sometimes COVID reschedules and a long-standing collaboration turns out even better than the original design. I love the clean lines in this image, combined with the messiness of this wall installation that highlights the cake. It’s always a challenge to make something look convincing enough that people *might* think it’s floating on a wall. Someday we’ll share some of the behind the scenes mechanics we use to create moments like these.

Bold, color- blocked florals in jade, coral, pink and saffron. Continuing our exploration into a colorful 2021! We’ve talked to so many brides lately who are getting brave with their color palette selections and we’re here for it!

Just ordered a whole lot of anemones for a January bride and I’m so excited! In case you’re wondering it’s pronounced uh-nem-uh-nee. 😉 people always seem to have a hard time with that one!

Sometimes simple is best. There’s nothing like a white flocked tree with simple lights to put you in the holiday spirit. 2020 was the year EVERYONE wanted to get a real tree so they basically sold out in the city of Austin, along with every light, every ornament and every Christmas bobble you can imagine. I’ve never seen anything like it in all my years of Christmas decorating! It makes me happy that everyone felt the need to go the extra mile to make their homes shine this season. When we received the request for this hotel guest tree, we weren’t sure if we could pull it off, but low and behold this perfect angel tree was left on the lot for us to scoop up. Guess it was meant to be ❤️🙏

Reason #1000 we love incorporating plants into our designs...couples can take them home and enjoy them in their forever home, and have a constant reminder of a very important guest of their nuptials. We have lovely collection of stands, pots and authentic terra cotta in our collection and we love bringing them out on wedding days. Not to mention that they are a very eco-friendly way to decorate your event!

Getting our hands on some velvety amaryllis this week and we’re so excited to do right by red roses.

Sometimes when I close my eyes I can imagine our studio NOT being a disaster and looking more like this. I’ll never fall out of love with this night, this design and the launch of a very fun concept @theelephanttable. Let’s have dinner parties again soon. K?

Happy Thanksgiving friends! This year might look a bit different for all of us, but there’s always something to be thankful for! More than ever, we’re grateful for our clients who trust us with their wedding days, and every special occasion. In 2020 we’ve had so many past clients reach out and ask how they can support us, how they can bring us in to design dinner parties, Christmas decor, insanely creative Halloween parties, online classes, you name it. Our community has really supported us and we FEEL IT. For this, we’re forever grateful 🙏
