Gumbo Connection
It's hard to find real gumbo in Austin, so we're offering my homemade chicken and sausage gumbo in convenient take-home containers.
Whether you're a Cajun yearning for a taste of home or a local looking for the real deal, we can hook you up.
This batch is SOLD OUT!
If I get enough orders I might make one more batch before the Christmas break.
Gumbo Time!
Hey Austin friends, I'm taking pre-orders for some holiday gumbo. Rich, smokey and overflowing with chicken and sausage. Best price you'll find: $10/quart, $40/gallon.
Hit me up soon; I'll only have 4-5 gallons in this batch!
Gumbo orders are slow right now, so we'll probably shut it down soon for the summer. So if you want some, order soon.
We held back a little of our turkey gumbo and took it with us to Inks Lake when we camped there a few weeks ago. Warmed it on the Coleman stove for an awesome outdoor treat. The turkey gumbo is officially gone until next Thanksgiving.
Are you guys tired of cold turkey leftovers? Yeah, us too.
So we took an entire baked turkey and made a gumbo out of it. You should taste the way the herbs in the turkey combined with the smoky flavor of tasso and Cajun sausage. This gumbo is rich and dark and will inspire you to give thanks all over again.
We took a break from gumbo production for most of the summer to work on other projects, but we'll be starting again full force in September.
We have 1 gallon left and it needs to go to make room for the next batch. First person to contact me and order the whole gallon gets it for $5 OFF!
So we donated a gallon of gumbo to the parent's night auction at Caraway Elementary last Saturday and it went for $60!
A few weeks ago I did a little experiment: I took an entire baked Christmas turkey (w/o stuffing, of course) and made a gumbo out of it. It was crazy-rich, with layer upon layer of flavor.
Here's the scoop: We're still in the startup phases and working on cost effective ways to distribute orders, but we are selling! Until I can get the website up, I'll post pertinent info here.
