Dear Friends,

I wanted to be in health care from the third grade. I worked in my hometown hospital in high school and during college breaks. At Texas A&M the Pre-med Pre-dent Society brought all the medical and dental schools to campus. It was clear to me dentistry suited me best.

After Dental School my wife, Karen and I decided we wanted to live in Austin, Texas and moved to Austin immediately after graduation May 4, 1977. We opened the doors of my first office on August 1, 1977. In 1984 my office location sold, and the lease was not going to be renewed by the new owner. With God’s blessings I bought a condominium office space and did the necessary finish out for our move in July of 1984.

I practiced there for twenty years, and the growth of the practice obligated the consideration of a move. Because I had loved serving health needs and protecting quality of life with healthy teeth, I wanted to expand my capabilities to serve more people. With that goal I added associate doctors and planned and built a free-standing building. I moved into the current location on McNeil Drive on April 1, 2004.

I started working fewer hours a week about three years ago. After I sold the practice to Dr. Justin Louie, in July of 2022. He hired me and allowed me to continue to work and I am very appreciative of his favor.

I was given this time to shepherd the changeover and I am enthusiastically happy I can say I’ll be leaving my patient/clients/friends in great hands. I am announcing my final work date is July 25, 2024. In addition, I am giving notice for a retirement celebration on July 20, 2024 from 2PM to 6PM. SAVE THE DATE! An invitation will follow. If one doesn’t arrive come anyway. The location. Is Avery Ranch Golf Club (between Hwy.620 and RR1431 and east of Palmer Lane).

Many of you have received decades of care and may have some projects yet undone. I’m sure there will be some shifting in my schedule where necessary but I expect to be available on Tuesday and Wednesday’s from 2:00-6:00 PM. If you prefer, I provide your services, take this into your consideration. Advanced Dental Care of Austin is and will be, able to meet you and your family and your friends’ needs for many years ahead.
