Thank you to the excellent LABAH staff for all your painstaking care of Hector.
My New Children's Book is HERE!
A magical picture book about an ordinary pig with an extraordinary wish. Ralph the pig wants to swim like a fish, so a kind mermaid grants his heart’s desire. On a beautiful summer day, Ralph finds friendship and fun playing in crystal-clear spring water. This book is inspired by the author and artist’s own sculpture “Ode To Ralph” that stands outside the Tourist Information Center in San Marcos, Texas. Ralph was a real swimming pig that entertained folks at the Aquarena Springs park and roadside attraction in the 1970s. “The Legend of Ralph the Merpig” is full of colorful illustrations, rhyming prose, and characters that leap off the pages. This book is perfect for children ages 0-7. Adults will enjoy Ralph as much as their children and grandchildren.

Your employees do not follow your Covid prevention rules nor the CDC guidelines. As far as I'm concerned, as customer of decades or your services, a, figuratively speaking, fatal mistake on your part and possibly a literally fatal error on my part for trusting you.

Your employee brought my pet out to my car after an appointment so I wouldn't have to come into the building and risk exposure to Covid. The employee was not wearing a mask and opened my car door and came across into my vehicle and put the pet and pet carrier in and chatted a bit

This goes against all Covid safety rules issued by the CDC, the WHO, and the city and state.

You haven't trained your people well on doing this part of their job. I now have several weeks of waiting to see if I've been infected by your employee. If I'm infected, I'm in a higher risk age group and have a greater chance of severe complications and death than average.

I'm more than disappointed in you and very upset. Apparently all the information on your web site about everything you're doing to protect your clients is just empty words.
The LABah Rescue kids are making such progress. Augie in sweater goes to Tails Within Texas Rescue next week. Henny Penny rocking socialization! Safe, love and warm need forever families! Please share!
Thanks to Dr. Honeycutt and the wonderful tech who helped with my boy Rigby Thursday night. They know he is freaked out and came up with a plan to help calm him. I really appreciate the extra effort.
Love everyone at LABAH but of course Dr Rob is our guy. He has treated all my animals for the past 15 years. So caring, funny and a true advocate for our furry friends. Always a pleasure. My animals don't really mind it so much either.
Town Hall is now preparing Welcome Kits for new families that are moving into our community.

Our Welcome Kits feature and direct these new families to a small number of local businesses for the goods, services & professionals that they need to find.

Since our Welcome Kits are exclusive, and we can only accommodate one Veterinarian, I would ask you to kindly let me know if you are interested in being the featured Veterinarian in our local Welcome Kits.

It is worthy to note that, according to Dr. Cathy Goodwin in her book “Making the Big Move”, 55% of new residents and families seek out a new Veterinarian shortly after their relocation. As such, more than one-half of our Welcome Kit recipients are actively looking for a new Vet.

I would like to schedule a time when you are expecting me so that I may drop off a sample of our "Welcome Kit" and explain the program in greater detail.

Please reply with your availability or call me at your earliest convenience.

For a faster response, or if you prefer, feel free to text me on my cell which is listed in my signature.

Thanks.

One of our partner rescue groups Wags Hope & Healing has Grace and she is SUCH A GREAT GIRL!
If you're looking for a mature lady to bring into your home consider adopting! Wags, Hope and Healing - Austin Area Animal Rehabilitation and Adoption

Sweet mama Grace is all smiles knowing that it's her turn to be featured! This amazing girl came to us ready to give birth at any moment! After 5 days of labor (2 at the Bastrop Shelter and 3 with us at Wags) she finally welcomed 16 puppies into the world. The biggest litter we have seen to date.

Grace was amazing through it all. Four of her puppies were adopted by another nursing mother to help out and then off she and her remaining 12 went to one of our most experienced foster homes where they were given all the care they needed. Bottle feeding and rotating between Grace was quite the undertaking. Her foster slept in her crate most nights and after a week, Grace stood up and gave her foster mom her first tail wag and the biggest kiss, almost as if to say thank you! Needless to say, this girl has stolen our hearts and we cannot wait to see who falls in love with her next.

She is about 2 years old. She is very playful with other dogs and now that her puppies have been adopted, she is ready to romp and run with a family of her own. Grace is a bit on the shy side. We don't believe that she had an abusive past, but she definitely takes a moment to warm up to people, likely due to being under socialized before we met her. Once she warms up to her people though, you will have a shadow following you around!

Grace is treat motivated, which is great, we think with the right owner, she will really blossom! Grace has spent plenty of time in both her fosters home and our director's home so we know that she enjoys soft blankets and beds more than anything in the world. She will literally pull a bed or cushion from one room into another just to lounge by you.

This little girl is the last of the mange puppies from Mexico that were rescued by a boarder patrol officer during the freezing weather last month.

Her name is Lily since she has blossomed so much! She is looking for her furever home at 16 weeks old!

What she needs in a home would definitely be a big sister or brother whether human or fur! She just wants someone to play with her and to snuggle. She is smart and can climb out of her playpen as well as fences to get to you. A chain link fence will not keep her safe so she would need a yard with wood or concrete fencing. Lily just wants you and would offer snuggles all day!

One of our partner rescue groups is looking for a medical foster for this boy after his leg amputation! Could you open your home?

UPDATe: Foster Found!

Donations can be made to: https://wags-hope-and-healing.snwbll.com/donate-to-save-lives-4

HELP PALITO!
WAGS would like to pull this sweet boy, but we need foster committed to help him through his recovery period after amputation. Anyone able to foster?
He is the sweetest boy who is in need of rescue due to having a wonky/old broken leg (likely just needs amputation). He was surrendered after what seems the owner was unable to care for injuries. They said got along with all of their other animals. Has also been tested well with other dogs here.

Name: Palito

Age: 2.5 years old

Medical: DHPP/bordetella, flea/tick, dewormer, gaba and caprofen

Personality: Incredibly sweet; did great with another dog – showed complete submission (rolling on back).

House party with our fur kids!
Be safe everyone, Happy New Year!!!
2022 please be kind ❤🙏❤

12/31/2021

Stock up on bully sticks and stuff and freeze your pup's kong toys as a great distraction during fireworks.

The days following both New Year's and the Fourth of July are among the highest for shelters when it comes to intake. Dogs get scared, escape their yards and can easily get hurt trying to get away from these scary noises.

Keep your pets inside and keep your pets busy! Having the TV on and lots of treats on hand can certainly help to lessen the anxiety.

Be sure to update your microchip and tag information and keep a collar on your pet this weekend - even if they are inside only, it only takes a moment for them to sneak out a door as it opens.

PSA from your friendly Veterinarians:
With Thanksgiving dinner in just 2 short days please remember to avoid the foods listed below! If your pet eats any of them it is usually followed by a trip to the vet that costs a pretty penny to calm the tummy down.

Do yourself a favor and keep the pancreas happy by keeping your pets away from the dinner table at feasting time. I know food = love so we want to share our yummy ham with our fur babies but ham = pancreatitis and that’s not fun for anyone.

GUESS WHAT!! OUR DOORS ARE OPEN!!
We can not wait to see you all again! A few things to know:
Masks are required when in the building.

We will still offer curbside if you are more comfortable doing so. We will ask you to bring your pet to the front of the building and then to stay in the parking lot and remaining curbside during the examination.

We still encourage calling ahead for medications and food and we will place them on the front porch to pick up to limit traffic.

If your appointment is a same day work-in appointment that will take up more time due to the nature of the appointment, you will be serviced curbside.

Drop off appointments are scheduled at the discretion of the Doctor.

Thank you for your continued support!

Sincerely,
Dr. Spitz and the LABAH staff
