We come all the way from Oak Hill, because of their great care.
We have been getting a few calls lately if we clean animals teeth? We don't, however it is very important you take care of their teeth as well. We reached out to our friends-- Dr. Castillo, Dr. Heppner, Dr. Pena, and Dr. Little at North Austin Animal Hospital to get more details!
Did you know you should brush your dog or cats teeth 3-4x weekly. You can use a human toothbrush. Due to animals swallowing toothpaste you should always use dog or cat toothpaste.
Full dental cleanings tend to be 1-3 yrs. depending on their genetic. Your vet will typically advise on how often it needs to be done based on their annual physical exam. Usually older animals, small breeds, and cats will need more often around every year.
They also recommended the Veterinary Partner articles for owner references as well. You can find those at http://ow.ly/AyKI50Iv9Nr
The program aims to provide veterinary care to pets belonging to economically disadvantaged community members and, for many, it's been the difference between being able get their pet basic annual care or not.
In fact, 98% of LEAP clients say they couldn't afford annual veterinary care and 87% of them say they'd be willing to sacrifice important big budget items - like health insurance, bills and utilities, their own prescription medications, and food for themselves - in order to care for their pet.
We hope to see more community-oriented programs pop up in the spirit of the LEAP program and we'd like to shout out Dr. Harris for his willingness to lend a hand when needed. 💯

If you were ever touched .... or bit in the ass by her..... your were blessed....
A little background on her, my old Lt Bill Gunnell at Bluebonnet Fire Dept called about a stray. I was a single man and needed comfort. SHE WAS THE ANSWER..... If she could tell our life stories I'd be rich or in jail.... lol
Lulu..... thank you for the last 18 years.... take care of Laila and Elvis.....
Thanks Julie Nichols , Bill Larvin Jr., Margie Henson , Mikayla Van Bemmel and North Austin Animal Hospital for getting her to the rainbow bridge.
My husband and I have worked in healthcare for many years. We are impressed with the staff members attention to detail and commitment to prevention of the spread of Covid-19.

Howdy y’all! Animals love to have fun in the sun but we owners need to make sure we beat the heat for them!
With temperatures at a record high in the good old Austin Texas we have some things to keep in mind over the following weeks!
Walk your babies early in the morning and later in the evening, and DON’T leave them unattended in any yard or park.
Check the sidewalk! If you can’t comfortably keep your hands on it for 10 seconds, neither can your pet!
Keep water close by! This is not the time of year for hikes with your babies! They need AC in close proximity to stay safe. Dehydration happens QUICK in our furry friends without a cool place to rest and rehydrate.
Heatstroke!
• Early symptoms of heatstroke include difficulty breathing, excessive panting, drooling, mild weakness or stupor.
• Severe symptoms can include collapsing, seizures, vomiting, diarrhea and a body temperature of over 104 degrees.
• If you see symptoms of heatstroke immediately contact our office (http://512.459.7676) or your nearest emergency room.
• Flat-faced breeds are even more prone to heatstroke. [Persian cats, Pugs and Bulldogs for example]
Walking Safety!
• Protect paw pads from burning! Asphalt can reach 125 degrees Fahrenheit on a 77 degree day!
• If the asphalt is hot, have pets walk on the grass or keep that walk short.
• Also, remember that shorter breeds of dogs will heat up quicker closer to asphalt or hot sand, putting them at greater risk of Heatstroke!
Firework Fear and Bonfire Burn Injuries
• Be extremely cautious about having pets around fireworks! Better yet, keep them safe at home and indoors if fireworks are to be used.
• Many pets go MISSING this time of year due to fear of loud noises and lack of identification
• You can contact us for Fear Free medications to help make the 4th of July less stressful! Now is the time to contact your vet!
• A quiet, escape-proof, enclosed area of your home is best. Your pet will thank you.
• Make sure your pet has a microchip or a collar on the 4th of July!
Remember to take your pet to an emergency hospital if they seem lethargic, painful, are showing any symptoms of heat stroke, or are collapsing.
Keep them hydrated and cool!
We will be closed July 4th and will resume normal hours on July 5th.
Wishing you a safe and fun filled Independence Day from our babies to you and yours!

Good Morning ! From our newest friend Seamus !! Let’s give him a big welcome 💗

Hi I’m Hercules!
I’m here to let you know a couple things this Friday and Saturday we are open normal business hours ! Secondly our Photo Booth is up so take a selfie when you stop by !!
Thank you

We had a Good Samaritan drop these 2 dogs with us today. She was out walking and these 2 followed her with her dog. She walked to the hospital with them and left while we were checking for microchips. Unfortunately they are not chipped nor do we have details of exactly where these guys started following her. We have posted on next door and made a found pet report with 311. We are currently contacting the shelter to see if we can take them there. If you know these dogs please give us a call at the hospital 512-459-7676. Please share!
Hello all! We don’t have power at the clinic so we won’t be able to see any appointments today. We will hopefully be back Friday morning. Stay safe!

Dr. Heppner, Dr. Tomlin and our tech Chelsea will be apart of this. Anything will help! Please share if you can! Thank you
