Lisa Taye Cohen Hair and Makeup
The Dawn of a New You
Who needs their hair done? I’ve got some openings this Wednesday 9/15 and Friday 9/17
Despite what the governor says, masks will STILL BE REQUIRED AT ALL TIMES TO GET SERVICES AT THE SALON. No mask = no service.
Starting April 1st: Single process color will increase $10.
All highlight services will increase $5.
My favorite product of the month is liquid eyeliner. A lot of you ask me which one I use. I switch around between these 5. I prefer matte waterproof (or long lasting) eyeliner. Most of these have a pen tip, the NYX Matte has a brush tip.
In the 1st pic, from top to bottom:
Stila Stay All Day liquid eyeliner- Intense Black $22
KVD Vegan Beauty Ink Liner- Trooper $21
NYX Epic Ink Liner- Black $9
NYX Matte Liquid Liner- Black $7.50
Wet n Wild Breakproof Liquid Eye Liner- Ultra Black $5.99
The 2nd pic is swatches of the liners in order (the Stila I did two swatches to show how fine of a line you can get).
The 3rd pic is after washing with just water.
The 4th pic is after washing with soap and water.
First look with Baby Yoda eyeshadow palette. Definitely out of my comfort zone with these colors. 💚🐸
My Favorite Product of the Month is Ardell Extension FX L-Curl false lashes. This the first lash I’ve seen that’s designed SPECIFICALLY for hooded eyelids or monolids. Hooded lids are when some of the skin of your upper lid hangs down over your bottom lid. Monolids are when you can’t see a bottom lid at all when your eyes are fully open.
Described as: ready to wear strip lashes. Inspired by a fresh application of Salon applied eyelash extensions. L-Curl is short, doll shape to lift eyes, great for monolid eyes. Lashes have silky soft, fine, tapered fibers and Knot-free invisiband.
Can be found at Ulta for $5.99
My Favorite Product of the Month is OPI Drip Dry lacquer drying drops. If you’re like me and are doing your nails at home still, these drying drops are a must. After applying a base coat, polish and top coat, apply 1-2 drops of this product. It will be dry to touch in 1 minute and completely dry in 5 minutes.
It can be found at Ulta for $13.50
Ok y’all, you asked for tutorials so here’s my first one. It is on how to find guidelines for shaping your brows. I sound like a do**us, but the instructions are good. 😄
I’ve had a lot of people ask me to teach them how to do makeup. My first advice is get a decent set of makeup brushes. So my Favorite Product of the Month is Morphe makeup brush sets. Here’s a few eye brush options that can get you started ranging from $6-$35. They also have ones with foundation, blush, and powder brushes as well. Go to https://www.morphe.com/collections/brush-sets to find a good match for you.
A lot of people ask me how to put on false lashes. Here’s one technique that works well. Sometimes I use tweezers to hold the lashes as I put them on, but it’s not absolutely necessary.
For this month’s Favorite Product of the Month I’m doing something a little different. I want to recommend using product lines that are cruelty-free. The first pic is of companies that don’t test on animals. The second is of companies that pay for tests on animals in China. You can also go to crueltyfreekitty.com to get a much more extensive list of product lines. ❤️❤️❤️
Some of y’all know my obsession with Bailey Sarian’s Murder Mystery and Makeup Mondays. Tried to recreate one of her looks. It took me 2 hours!
Today’s installment of Makeup in the time of Corona. Went full pink fantasy to match my Hello Kitty mask.
My favorite product of the month: quarantine edition pt. 2 - Megababe Thigh Rescue Anti-Chafe Stick.
Use this product on the inside of your thighs to prevent the irritation that can occur when wearing shorts or skirts. Especially helpful during the hot and humid days of a Texas summer.
Described as: Megababe Thigh Rescue Anti-Chafe Stick offers superior, worry-free protection against thigh chafe. The non-toxic formula glides on smooth and instantly melts into skin, creating a friction-free barrier.
As you move, thighs that rub together stay cool and free of irritation.
Thigh Rescue is formulated with good-for-you ingredients, including aloe and antioxidant-rich vitamin E to soothe; pomegranate seed extract to protect; and grapeseed oil to hydrate.
Can be found at megababebeauty.com or at Target or Ulta for $14.
If you’ve ever wondered what a makeup artist/makeup addict’s collection looks like in their bathroom, here ya go. I have a bunch more makeup in my pro-kit too. An artist’s needs her tools! There’s least 25 different product lines represented here.
First attempt at “foxy eyes”. It’s harder than it looks. Check out my hair and makeup Instagram page to see what makeup I used.
I’m going to try to do a new series called “Makeup in the time of Corona”, where I experiment with my eye makeup, since that’s all people really see of me when I’m out in public. If you can believe it I used 8 different makeup brands for this look.
What fun looks should I try with my new eyeshadow palette? 🌈
Favorite product of the month: Quarantine edition-
My favorite product of the month is the My Solemate 2 in 1 pumice stone for feet. Since I don’t feel comfortable going to the nail salon yet, this little gem has been keeping my feet super soft. And easy to use when showering.
Described as: Unlike regular pumice stones, My Solemate’s Foot Pumice Stone boasts a luxurious, lemongrass moisturizing soap on the flip side. This soap is infused with high-quality ingredients, including Shea butter, Aloe and Vitamin E to help hydrate, smooth and nourish your skin. Not only will it help to heal cracked, callused feet and soothe foot pain, but it will also leave your skin smooth and soft like a baby’s foot.
Can be found on Amazon on sale right now for $14.49

Trying to create a cut crease (or fake bottom eyelid) with makeup on Asian eyes just isn’t doing it for me. When I’m looking down the makeup looks great. But with my eyes open, the makeup looks crazy. 😕
I wanted to try and recreate a Snapchat filter with just makeup. I did my hair the same in both pics so I could just focus on the makeup. How did you think I did? 🖤🖤🖤
So in my down time I’ve been trying different makeup tutorials for winged liner on hooded eyes. It’s so hard because everyone’s eye shape is so different. Anyway here is the first one I tried. I can link the tutorial in the comments if y’all want.
I have made the hard decision to reschedule all appointments until mid-April, in order to properly socially distance and slow the spread of COVID-19. Everyone stay safe and I hope to see you soon!
I’m back with my favorite product of the month. I love these tiny spatulas to help get every drop of product out of tubes and jars. Makeup and skin care is expensive! So make sure you get that last little bit out. I found them at The Container Store for $3.99 and $4.99. But I bet you can find them online too.
A fun new hairstyle for Maggie!! 💇🏼♀️
Today’s messy bun. 🤗
Some people have asked me how I do my messy bun. I’m always looking for new ways to change it up, but I come back to this YouTube tutorial most of the time. If you’ve got another favorite way to do a messy bun, comment below.
I just found out today that my work phone voicemail has not been working properly ALL YEAR! If any of you have tried to leave me a voicemail or referred someone and they never got a call back, I TRULY APOLOGIZE! Please just text me at my work phone until I can get this sorted out. (512)-663-5529. Again I am so sorry if any of you didn’t get a call back. 😣
Ok so for any of you wondering how I created my fake bangs out of my own hair, here is the main tutorial video I used. I just didn’t use a head band. Instead I used the bouffant to hide the pins holding the bangs in place.

So I’m super late doing a favorite product of the month. I’m just going to tell y’all to go to the Morphe store in Barton Creek Mall or shop their site online. They have an INCREDIBLE selection of makeup brushes and makeup, all of which are super affordable. This pic is just one possible option. It’s time to treat yo self and expand your makeup collection. 💋🖌
I just realized that I never posted this Hecate makeup look I did, to this page. I had a blast creating this and thank you to Kate for being a spectacular model. 🌙🖤

I’ve been doing my winged liner like this almost a year. It works really well on my hooded eyelids. Also I would highly recommend you do this with liquid liner, not pencil.
This Beloved Makeup Artist Has a Genius Winged Liner Trick for Hooded Eyes Katie Jane Hughes refuses to let eye shape stop anyone from creating a fierce cat-eye.
My favorite product of the month is Pravana Perfect Blonde toning shampoo. This purple shampoo is perfect for toning out yellowish tints in your blonde. Don’t let how dark purple it looks scare you. It is how I keep my ombré icy.
Described as: THE PERFECT BLONDE Purple Toning Shampoo is formulated specifically to instantly neutralize yellow and brass tones. Infused with coconut oil and soy protein, this shampoo gently cleanses as it brightens and adds shine making it the ideal addition to your blonde regimen.
