I made a donation today to the Hope Food Pantry Austin. The pantry gives hope to families in the community by providing free groceries to those struggling to make ends meet.
The food insecurity rate in Travis County is 17.1%, compared to 15.4% nationwide. For children, it’s 24% in Travis County, compared to a national child food insecurity rate of 20.9% (Source: Feeding America). Covid-19 is just making circumstances worse. In 2022, Hope Food Pantry Austin (Hope) provided groceries to 4602 households experiencing food insecurity. Over 6400 hours of volunteer time was devoted to delivering, sorting, stocking, preparing and distributing approximately 207,090 pounds — an equivalent of 172,575 meals — of produce and non-perishable grocery items.

Thank you for inviting your fabulous group to Hope's event. The groceries will help families of all shapes and sizes through difficult times. It will help alleviate hunger through Hope's grocery store model that offers the dignity of choice and gives hope to those who are experiencing food insecurity in our community." HEART PAT!!! 💙

Homeless Task Force looking for help:
Huge Costco Donations Sale & Fundraiser for Homeless
Costco and Whole Foods make donations weekly to Trinity Church’s Homeless Task Force, which we sell to support Austin’s homeless community.
Our next semi-annual sale will be Friday, June 2 and Saturday, June 3 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church.
Donations from Costco include a wide variety of furniture, camping and sporting goods, all kinds of household goods and decorative items, foods, lawn and garden equipment and supplies, household cleaning supplies, a wide variety of health and beauty items, nutritional supplements, protein and workout formulas, toys, clothing, and much more, all in search of a new home at amazing bargain prices!
Gethsemane Lutheran Church is located at 200 W. Anderson Lane, Austin 78752. That’s on US Hwy 183, just west of I-35 (next to ASPCA and across 183 from Red Lobster).
The sale runs from 930 am to 230 pm each day.
Volunteers are needed each day to help with setup (730 am to 930 am) and teardown (230 pm to 430 pm) and, as always, volunteers shop first!

Hope has amazing community partners. Thanks to the Dollar store off Burnet and North Loop and their generous customers for filling these stockings with fun but practical items! We will be distributing them alongside food this Thursday and Friday between 9-10:30am!
