“A long process but totally worth it!”
This patient had two impacted teeth (the upper canines) that wouldn’t come out on their own. Commonly, the recommendation is to surgically expose and bond those teeth to help them come out and often it is also recommended to pull out other teeth to give them space. With our techniques we were able to get enough space for the teeth to naturally erupt without surgery or extractions and she had braces for only one year!

Another smile accomplished! We are so proud and honored for having patients like this, who has come for treatment with us all the way from Houston! Two years with ALF and Myobrace and just one year with braces, and not one tooth pulled out!
Her expressions of gratitude and joy are inspirational to continue helping our patients achieve the healthy life that they deserve!

COVID-19 UDATE 4/27/2020
The current mandatory business closure for the city of Austin is due on May 8, 2020. We expect to reopen our office on May 11, 2020. Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We follow infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA),the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health
Administration (OSHA). We keep track of the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.
During the current world pandemic, you may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:
• Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.
• We will ask you to wash your hands when you enter the office. You will also find some hand sanitizer in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.
• You may see that our waiting and activity rooms will no longer offer books, magazines, or children’s toys since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
• Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.
• We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.
Please understand, that only the patient will be allowed in the operatory and activity rooms.

As of now, Life Dentistry will be open this week during our normal business hours. We will be monitoring the current situation and will follow any government mandates. Our office is always sterilized before and after patients, but we will be taking extra measures to wipe down surfaces in the waiting room more often as well.
