What is Myofunctional Orthodontics?
Myofunctional Orthodontics - Life Dentistry It is a pre-orthodontic alternative that allows the correction of teeth and jaw misalignment without the use of braces. The use of a series of removable myofunctional appliances and oral myofunctional exercises are the basic components of this minimally invasive approach.
This month we are celebrating Life Dentistry’s 10th Anniversary!🥳And we are joyful to share our story with our new looking website! We are very grateful and thankful for all these years with you!
Special thanks to my web developer Elba Martínez from Ideas Creative Group!
Our Story - Life Dentistry “Life is what inspired us to create a unique dental practice that shows how much we care. Some characteristics of life are the capacity of growth, functional activity and change. Our practice is truly moved by these qualities of life. We believe that an orthodontic treatment should address muc.....

Per patient request, Dr Medina transformed herself into a living Christmas tree 🎄 😁
🌱Life is the reason we help you smile! 🦋
“A long process but totally worth it!”
This patient had two impacted teeth (the upper canines) that wouldn’t come out on their own. Commonly, the recommendation is to surgically expose and bond those teeth to help them come out and often it is also recommended to pull out other teeth to give them space. With our techniques we were able to get enough space for the teeth to naturally erupt without surgery or extractions and she had braces for only one year!
Another smile accomplished! We are so proud and honored for having patients like this, who has come for treatment with us all the way from Houston! Two years with ALF and Myobrace and just one year with braces, and not one tooth pulled out!
Her expressions of gratitude and joy are inspirational to continue helping our patients achieve the healthy life that they deserve!

apple.news Dentists spend their careers eye to eye with infectious patients, their hands inside gaping mouths, and have a vested interest in making sure everyone stays safe. Here's how they do it.
We are deeply grateful to the Austin Chinese Community Covid-19 fighting Alliance for their generosity. 🙏🏽

COVID-19 UDATE 4/27/2020
The current mandatory business closure for the city of Austin is due on May 8, 2020. We expect to reopen our office on May 11, 2020. Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We follow infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA),the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health
Administration (OSHA). We keep track of the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.
During the current world pandemic, you may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:
• Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office.
• We will ask you to wash your hands when you enter the office. You will also find some hand sanitizer in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.
• You may see that our waiting and activity rooms will no longer offer books, magazines, or children’s toys since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
• Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment.
• We will do our best to allow greater time between patients to reduce waiting times for you, as well as to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.
Please understand, that only the patient will be allowed in the operatory and activity rooms.
We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please contact us at (512) 996-9080 or by email at [email protected]
We are grateful for your business!
To all our wonderful patients and families:
We miss seeing your faces, and we are looking forward to catching up with you all! Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you need anything! Our first priority is your safety and the safety of our staff, so we are working on a plan to reopen while following all guidelines set in place. Stay tuned! Hugs and love!
It’s been nine years today since we opened our office! We want to thank our staff, our referring colleagues, our neighbors, our vendors and our laboratories, for collaborating with us with their service and support.
And most of all, we want to thank our patients and their families for choosing Life Dentistry! We miss everyone very much right now, but we hope we’ll be seeing everyone soon! 🙏🏽

As of now, Life Dentistry will be open this week during our normal business hours. We will be monitoring the current situation and will follow any government mandates.
