People often ask “how do I get motivated?” As if one day they’re going to be struck with motivation like a bolt of lightning while they’re laying on their couch.
That’s not how motivation works.
First, you need to take action. Even, and especially, when you aren’t motivated.
From that action you’ll get results and from those results you’ll get more motivation. And so the cycle continues… 🔄🔄🔄
Don’t leave your health up to your Doctor, Physical Therapist, Personal Trainer, or Nutritionist, etc. Become informed, ask questions, and begin your own health journey today 🙌🏽💪🏽👊🏽💯
Managing pain + movement can be a complex situation sometime so we try to keep our focus on an overarching theme - we’re trying to get the body working like it’s intended to.
So, we don’t necessarily need to fix thing by thing because the closer we get to moving like we should with relative strength and range of motion, the more things will just fix themselves 👍🏼
Stiffness hides a stability problem and causes a mobility problem.
So, if you are only stretching muscles that feel tight for relief, then you aren’t addressing the stability issues that could be causing the compensations.
Don’t spend all of your time addressing the symptoms of stiffness if you’re not going to focus on the underlying cause as well.
Tight calf muscles ➡️ poor ankle mobility and foot stability
Tight Lats ➡️ poor overhead mobility and shoulder & core stability
Tight hips ➡️ poor hip mobility and core stability
Along with constantly stretching a certain area let’s follow it up with a stability exercise that addresses the underlying issues.

Putting one foot in front of the other is a simple concept that most of us take for granted. 🏃🏽♂️
To perform at their best, the foot and ankle need stability and mobility. Any injury or condition that disrupts how these bones and tissues work has an enormous impact on our ability to stabilize and balance and will greatly affect the ability of the foot and ankle to provide proper gait function to the body.
Factors such as age, shoes, injury, etc, all contribute to a decline in balance.
Fortunately, balance exercises are the key to improving coordination and control. 🤸🏾♂️
Stability through your foot allows you to make majors achievements in your overall technique and performance in daily life and when lifting. 🏋🏿

Nothing like a father daughter workout! Giving a shoutout to our clients Aurora and Jorge for all of their continued hard work 💪🏽 They came to us for some guidance on how to build strength with the right technique behind their movements since both of them work in a physically demanding field which requires them to be bent over or lifting heaving things all day long.
Aurora is starting college this week and Jorge has had great success with starting his own business and has big things coming this year! We love supporting our clients in all of their goals, inside and outside of the studio. Taking care of yourself allows you to do more with each day!

There is no magic solution. But, engaging in positive behaviors repeatedly reinforces to your brain that you are worth the energy and effort to do them.
🏋🏿 Movement = your body is worth strengthening
🍽 Cooking = your gut is worth nourishing.
📖 Learning = your ambitions are worth pursuing.
📝 Journaling = your mind is worth clearing.
🧘🏽 Meditation = your thoughts are worth observing, not avoiding.
Living with these mentalities and beliefs is what makes life better.

It’s safe to say you will never progress as quickly as you want.
Your weight won’t drop as quickly as you want. Your back pain won’t go away as fast as you’d like.
And that’s ok.
It doesn’t mean you’ve hit a plateau. It’s normal and is all part of the process.
You didn’t gain weight and get out of shape in a month. It didn’t just take a month for your back pain to develop.
So, you aren’t going to lose the weight, get in shape, and fix your back pain in a month.
Be patient. Have fun and enjoy the process. Because what’s the point if you’re not having fun?
