Liposomal vitamins are a form of supplements where the active ingredients are encapsulated in tiny, lipid (fat) based spheres, known as liposomes. These liposomes act as protective bubbles, shielding the nutrients from degradation in the digestive system and enhancing their absorption.

1. **Improved Absorption:** Liposomal encapsulation increases bioavailability, allowing for better absorption into the bloodstream.

2. **Protection from Digestive Enzymes:** In the digestive process, many nutrients get broken down by stomach acid and enzymes before they can be absorbed. Liposomes act as a shield, allowing more of the intact nutrients to reach the bloodstream.

3. **Targeted Delivery:** Liposomes can bypass the liver and go directly to the cells that need the nutrients. This ensures a more efficient delivery to the body's tissues and organs.

4. **Reduced Dosage:** Due to their enhanced absorption, liposomal supplements may require lower doses compared to traditional forms, reducing the risk of overloading the digestive system.

5. **Minimized GI Distress:** Some people experience digestive discomfort or upset stomach when taking certain vitamins. Liposomal delivery can help mitigate these issues.

6. **Enhanced Cellular Health:** Liposomes are similar in structure to the cell membrane, which allows them to fuse with cells and deliver nutrients directly where they're needed.

Overall, liposomal vitamins offer a more efficient and effective way to deliver essential nutrients to the body, potentially resulting in better health outcomes. However, it's important to note that while liposomal delivery is advantageous for certain nutrients, it may not be necessary for all types of supplements. Have you noticed that certain aspects of your health declined after you got implants?

It's no wonder many women have unexplained symptoms after getting breast implants…

Silicone- and silicone byproducts, can leach out of breast implants long before evidence of a rupture.

Chemicals degrade from the surface of the breast implant shell, and the interior gel can move through the silicone shell out into the body as well.

Once free of the implant, the chemicals interact with the surrounding tissues and the immune system.

Breast Implant Illness (BII) is the body's response to inflammation caused by a foreign object (breast implants) in the body, that increases over time and can lead to many symptoms.

The body's immune system may become confused by the presence of a persistent foreign object in the body, activating autoimmune symptoms.

Depending on your symptoms, tests for autoimmunity, thyroid issues, liver function, molds, or even parasites may be indicated.

You can schedule a free Discovery Session with our Patient Advocate, Candice, who had BII and explant surgery, to discuss possible options to help.

Our patient advocate who had BII and explant surgery, shared with us her recommendations for explant recovery.

✅ A zip-up hoodie. Something that zips up in the front will be so much easier to get in and out of, especially after surgery.

✅ Flexible ice pack. There are ones that strap all the way around. (Remember to only ice for about 30 minutes at a time).

✅ A notepad. Keeping a notepad by your bed is very helpful for writing down your medication times and dosage.

✅ A wedge pillow or a pregnancy pillow. This is important to help keep you slightly elevated, and keep you from turning on your sides or stomach.

✅ PJs or a robe that opens up in the front and a front closure bra. These are easy to take on and off, and you won't have to move your arms around too much to do it.

✅ Nutrition is very important in healing and so is protein. Preparing food ahead of time and having a game plan for someone to help, will ensure you are eating nutritious, protein-rich foods.

Most importantly, follow your doctor's instructions.

At our clinic, we have many tools to help you recover post-explant surgery.

👉🏼 We have a specialized holistic accelerated recovery program (HARP) to support you pre and post-surgery.

👉🏼 We have a certified lymphatic massage therapist who works with our patients to help reduce swelling, lower inflammation and expedite healing. We also have the Ballancer Pro, a state-of-the-art lymphatic device for the whole body.

👉🏼 We have a functional practitioner, who had BII and an explant herself and works with you on your BII detox protocols.

👉🏼 We have my personal line of curated supplements designed specifically for women with Breast Implant Illness. ( link in bio )

👉🏼 We perform EEG's at your pre-op and post-op appointments to measure changes in neural inflammation and brain fog.

If you've had explant surgery, what are some things you wish you had during your e healing process?

Let us know in the comments.

Breast implant illness is not a trend ❌

It's a serious and widespread problem. It has become a movement to help women get the right information so that they can make informed decisions about their health.

Many women develop complications such as Breast Implant Illness (BII) symptoms, breast pain or capsular contracture, in which scar tissue hardens around the implant.

Most women are not even aware that the symptoms they are experiencing have to do with their breast implants until it has become debilitating.

As science tries to make more sense of the data, I am here to help you find the best options for treatment.

I explain the data I've collected on BII with patients and then work with them to determine the best treatment plan for their explant surgery.

I listen to your concerns and help you find the right solutions for your body and healing journey.

If you are suffering from any breast implant-related symptoms, you can schedule a virtual or in-office consultation with our office or a free 15-minute discovery call with our Patient Advocate, Candice.

What you learn could change your life.

Many women come to me struggling with numerous symptoms of inflammation.

They’ve usually been to several doctors and specialists who've run numerous tests.

Many of them are told their blood work looks fine and don’t receive answers for their debilitating symptoms.

The unfortunate truth is... many doctors won’t even ask if you have breast implants or how long you have had them.

Even so, upon most physicians' physical examination of the breast and the implant, everything appears ‘normal.’

Due to this “normal” physical exam, most of the patients’ claims of feeling ill or having other symptoms not previously experienced are brushed aside or sometimes categorized as an auto-immune disorder, Lyme, or fibromyalgia, to name a few.

While the scientific data on BII is still catching up, I will continue to care for my patients with the protocols I have developed to treat BII and other inflammatory root cause issues I often see with my patients.

If you suspect you may have breast implant illness, you’ll need to choose a board-certified plastic surgeon who has extensive experience performing breast implant removal surgery- with an en bloc total capsulectomy (complete removal of scar capsule), and stays informed on BII studies and best practices.

If you would like to learn more, you can click the link in my bio to schedule a free Discovery Session with our Patient Advocate, Candice, who had BII and explant surgery.

If you have breast implants and are experiencing unexplained symptoms such as:

👉🏼 Fatigue
👉🏼 Headaches
👉🏼 IBS
👉🏼 Hair loss
👉🏼 Dry mouth
👉🏼 Dry eyes
👉🏼 Insomnia
👉🏼 Difficulty taking deep breaths
👉🏼 Frequent skin rashes
👉🏼 Brain fog or memory loss
👉🏼 Persistent joint and muscle pain
👉🏼 Lack of connection

You are not alone.

These are many of the symptoms reported to the FDA by women with breast implants.

While these symptoms may  have other root causes, if your doctors have investigated every other possibility and you are still struggling from health issues with no resolution…

It may be time to look into your breast implants.

As you'd imagine, these symptoms can be confused with other illnesses leading to a delay in a diagnosis and countless tests and expenses.

Breast Implant Illness (BII) is relatively new to the medical community, but not to the many women who have suffered from these symptoms.

Most of my patients with BII find me after exhausting all other medical avenues, and going through exhaustive medical testing.

Many women feel an instant reduction in the severity of their BII symptoms following explant surgery.

I'm here to tell you that I believe and hear you, and your symptoms are REAL..

If you're struggling with your health and suspect it may be BII, you can book a free call with our patient advocate, Candice, to discuss next steps in restoring your health..

In many cases, women who have their breast implants removed greatly benefit from a breast lift (mastopexy) to help tighten skin that may have been stretched over time from the implants.

While a breast lift will ensure the appearance of the breast is elevated, it does not address the size or fullness of the breast.

A breast lift combined with a fat transfer can be performed during explant surgery to ensure the breasts appear youthful, elevated and full.

Breast implant removal with simultaneous fat transfer might be right for you if any of the following points apply:

✅ You're ready to downsize but don't want to return to your original breast size.

(A fat transfer will increase your breast size by about one cup. Liposuction can remove 5 to 8 pounds of fat.)

✅ You have specific areas of fat that you would like to remove.

Before transferring fat to your breasts, I will need to remove unwanted fat and stem cells from selected areas of your body. Most women elect to have fat removed from their stomach, thighs and hips, while other options may include the back and waist.

However, if you have a very low body fat percentage (BMI), fat transfer, while still possible, will be a much smaller amount.

✅ You no longer want breast implants.

Many patients experience complications, like Breast Implant Illness (BII), ruptures, implant shifting & discomfort, back pain & neck pain from the weight of their implants, or capsular contracture.
Fat transfer avoids the above issues while still enhancing your breast size.

✅ You're looking for volume replacement and permanent results at the time of explant (breast implant removal).

Transferred fat can last a lifetime. The way I carefully harvest and prepare fat for transfer helps the cells survive in their new location and establish themselves permanently. Fat cells are fragile and transfer must be performed in a very specific way.

For patients who would like to avoid the possibility of revision surgeries, fat transfer can offer a long-term solution to enhancing breast size.

Breast implant removal surgery, also known as an explant, is a surgical procedure under general anesthesia to remove silicone or saline breast implants, During this procedure, an incision is made, under the breast crease and the implants and scar capsules are removed.

Many women seek breast implant removal because they are experiencing Breast Implant Illness (BII) symptoms, breast pain or capsular contracture, in which scar tissue hardens around the implant.

The formation of scar tissue is the body’s natural response to a foreign object, such as a breast implant.

Several studies also suggest that women with breast implants have a small but significant increase in their chances of developing certain autoimmune or connective tissue diseases.

Many women with both silicone or saline breast implants have reported symptoms which are sometimes serious, such as joint or muscle pain, brain fog, fibromyalgia, and painful skin rashes.

After performing over 1,200 explant procedures, I've seen many of these symptoms improve once the breast implants and scar capsules are removed. While the scientific data on BII is still catching up, I will continue to care for my patients with the protocols that I have developed to treat BII and other inflammatory root cause issues I see so often with my patients.

If you are suffering from any breast implant related symptoms, you can schedule a virtual or in-office consultation with our office or a free 15 minute discovery call with our Patient Advocate, Candice.

Breast implant removal surgery, also known as an explant, is a surgical procedure to remove silicone or saline breast implants.

During this procedure, an incision is made and the implants and scar capsules are removed.

Many women seek breast implant removal because they are experiencing breast implant illness symptoms, breast pain or capsular contracture, in which scar tissue hardens around the implant.

The formation of scar tissue is the body’s natural response to a foreign object such as a breast implant.

👉🏼In a total capsulectomy, all of the scar tissue is removed along with the implant.

Removal of the entire capsule reduces continued inflammation due to biofilms, silicone or other contaminants that may remain within the scar capsule.

👉🏼 An en-bloc capsulectomy with breast implant removal is a procedure in which the scar tissue surrounding an implant is removed completely in one piece with no rips or tears. This greatly limits the risk of contaminants from biofilms, bacteria or ruptured materials such as silicone or texturing from textured implants from getting into the chest wall. En bloc, total capsulectomies are critical for cases where there may be an undetected breast implant related cancer such as ALCL or SCC.

If you suspect you may have breast implant illness, a ruptured implant, or are just ready to remove your breast implants it is important to choose a surgeon with extensive experience performing proper explant surgery.

I pride myself in putting patient concerns first and guiding them to the best treatment options with compassion and understanding.

Many women with breast implants feel that their implants are making them sick.

However, upon physical examination of the breast and the implant by most physicians, everything appears ‘normal’.

Due to this “normal” physical exam, most of the patients’ claims of feeling ill or having other symptoms not previously experienced are brushed aside or even categorized as an auto-immune disorder, lyme, fibromyalgia to name a few.

BII is not yet recognized as an official medical diagnosis because the research around  it is just beginning; although my hope is that this will soon change.

I had a patient who was searching for the best surgeon to remove her breast implants. She relied on Yelp reviews, Facebook groups and met with numerous surgeons.

Most would agree to take her implants out, but all dismissed the possibility that her implants were causing her symptoms…

After this dismissive experience, she found me.

Most of my clients with BII find me after exhausting all other medical avenues and going through exhaustive medical testing.

Many women feel an instant reduction of the severity of their BII symptoms following explant surgery.

I'm here to tell you that I believe you, I hear you, and your symptoms are real.

If you've ever experienced medical gaslighting, share below (if you’re comfortable). Because you're not alone.

Hello 👋🏼 My name is Dr. Robert Whitfield and I would like to introduce myself since I have some new followers.

I’m a board-certified plastic surgeon with extensive experience performing breast reconstruction, explant surgery and fat transfer.

I started my surgical career working with cancer patients and later moved into Holistic Plastic Surgery, where I now help patients struggling with BII or patients who are looking for minimally invasive cosmetic procedures that are just as effective but can be done more naturally.

Over the last 10 years, I noticed there was a lack in pre and post operative care, so I created the HARP Method (Holistic Accelerated Recovery Program) to optimize healing, identify inflammatory triggers, detox and rebalance the gut, preserve youth and improve overall health and wellness.

Patients know their bodies. I listen to their concerns, take them seriously, and help them find the right solutions for healing.

I understand BII is a very real condition for women who are seriously struggling with their health. I work with patients daily to reduce and help eliminate the symptoms of BII through explant surgery and my holistic protocols.

If you want to learn more you can schedule a virtual or in-person consultation with our office or a free 15 minute discovery call with our patient advocate

Breast implants can be a life-changing confidence booster for some women, but many experience increasing complications with their implants as time goes on.

Breast Implant Illness (BII) is the body’s response to inflammation caused by a foreign object (breast implants) in the body that increases over time leading to many of the symptoms listed above. ⬆️

SO WHAT CAN YOU DO?

Explant Surgery- The greatest benefit of breast implant removal is typically the instant relief and lessened severity of BII symptoms following the procedure.

Dr. Rob has performed over 1,100 explant procedures. He has watched as many women gain instant relief of their symptoms and feel better than before very quickly.

If you suspect you may have breast implant illness, you’ll need to choose a board certified plastic surgeon who has extensive experience performing breast implant removal surgery with a total capsulectomy (complete removal of scar capsule) and stays informed on BII studies and best practices.

Feel free to click the link in bio to schedule a free Discovery Session with our Patient Advocate who had BII and explant surgery.
