B1 supplementation needs to be micro dosed, cycled, batched and mediated via cofactors b2 and magnesium plus b complexes, beef kidney and lamb liver.

It may not be enough to simply take a b complex.

Microdosing and titrations are key, and I’d only advise if you have long term beriberi.

ESP if you want to supplement with benfotiamine, which is not advised!

B1 is supposed to be water soluble and easily excreted via the liver.

Thiamine HCL is water soluble thiamine. Pork is the highest source of thiamine, followed by asparagus.

A really good whole food vitamin I like that contains very safe, not too low doses are Pure Synergy.

Did my first cold plunge today.

NOT in the springs - in 34 degree water. 😅💪

They say it helps sleep so I’ll do anything after the past two days
🥲 ❄️✨

The claims are it :

Elevates mitochondrial density and brown fat percentage
Elevates melatonin production by lowering your body temperature
Increases dopamine
Relieves pain
Reduces stress but improves stress resiliency
by boosting cold shock proteins that have an hormetic effect on the body
Boost immunity

When I tried to lower my body lower than heart level my cells were screaming to stop.

So I kept above heart level and I’m glad I did because I think anymore would’ve been too much for my sensitive body.

Over all I think it wasn’t too intense, during. I was in for about 1:30. After shock stress seemed to kick in though.

I had strange reactions afterward, nystagmus and I could see lots of veins in my eyelids. I’m not sure if that’s a detox reaction or stress reaction. In my 8 years of following cold plungers and research I’ve never heard of this happening.

I think this year, with 3 near death experiences has put my body under a lot of stress understandably and so I’m also not super surprised I’m having uncommon symptoms.

Anyway, I got in a warm tub afterward and I feel fine.

We’ll see how I sleep tonight ! 🤞

Beef tongue(one of the best tasting meats hands down, if you haven’t tried it you gotta !!! ) with nitric oxide elevating arugula and digestive enzyme elevating pineapple. Also, raspberries have the highest amount of fiber of all the fruits.

An atypical breakfast today, but green smoothies always help my nerves and I truly feel more balanced and alkalized as an omnivore.
.
Lately my inner Buddha has been telling me eat greens since I’ve been mostly carnivore lately. Soo I packed a phat stack in the blender full of parsley and spinach 🌞 and also blueberries, green grapes and a half a banana. I’m getting my fat from the raw egg yolks 🤤
.
Ive used meats and dark greens to heal in the past, so this seems to be compatible with my body, which is what it’s all about. Healing is about finding what works for you, and amplifying and nurturing that inner wisdom until youre not overly influenced any of the other opinions from experts.
.
You’re the expert, but yes, there are also cool people doing their best who can sometimes be a useful guide for nutrition information.
.
I am currently experiencing an interesting awakening in my healing journey and im learning more each day how important it is to be in tune with yourself and trust that your body can heal.
.
Your body is a miracle and was created with everything in it needed to achieve homeostasis. You do need to support it in the process, but also let go.

Lessons in a complex healing journey:
.
Struggling with dysautonomia for many months can be awful, but lowering your baseline cortisol in the morning with meditation is the number one way to help your body cope with it.
.
NOT supplements and esp not fat soluble b vitamins.
.
Yes, b1 can help with symptoms but get it in Whole Foods form ! Pork and asparagus have the most b1 out of any food.
.
I currently haven’t been exercising due to :
Benfotiamine fat soluble synthetic b1(do NOT take this stuff)
.
Why? Paradoxical reaction. Feeling fatigue, low blood pressure, and depersonalization.
.

Not moving as much are making my calorie needs much lower.
.
So, here’s my breakfast today:
Juice, oysters, sauerkraut, one egg yolk, olives !
.
Still haven’t supplemented but I’m honestly tempted to since I’m experiencing numbness and almost complete loss of smell and taste. (Might supplement b12 and omega 3)
.
Other ways to improve b12 absorption:
Digestive bitters like :
Lemon
Ginger plus salt
Apple cider vinegar
Dandelion root
Dandelion leaves
Bitter greens and veggies
.
How? These foods elevate gastric juices which can improve production of intrinsic factor, a key glycoprotein that without which we do not absorb b12.
.
I noticed early on last year I couldn’t digest meats the same.
.
Now, I am trying to support my intrinsic factor pathway naturally.
.
The juice recipe is as follows :
Carrot
Cabbage
Celery
Lemon

Microbes produce B vitamins as well as communicate with the parasympathetic nervous system, helping your body oscillate between fight or flight and rest and digest in a way that facilitates your survival.

When you have assaults on the microbial integrity, gut lining, intestinal mucin, etc. due to TBI, antibiotics, and vaccines, this dramatically reduces your body’s capacity to produce b vitamins.

B vitamins are crucial to sleep and energy pathways of the body.

Turns out I may have been “doxxed” by doxycycline which creates a microbial and thiamine deficiency.

Then the vaccine created a more severe deficiency pushing me over the edge. Many vax injured or long covid people have dysautonomia.

Recently I had a dysautonomic flare up, and ALL my symptoms point to beriberi:

Impaired glucose metabolism

Insomnia

Pin pricks (peripheral neuropathy) from elevated blood sugar

Realistic sample breakfast of wild caught salmon for DHA, astaxanthin, high quality protein and I can digest fish easily right now.

Duck feet collagen from to help seal my gut so it can absorb, digest and heal my body further.

Kefir from -from grass fed cows- this stuff is truly ALIVE, using this repopulate my gut.

Berries and chocolate 🍫 -they’re feeding my microbes, healing my brain and taste so damn good!

I went from eating like a “young person who’s health conscious but never been sick or injured healthy” to actually a completely different way of eating : no inflammatory seed oils, no bread, gluten, sugar or processed foods.
.
Back in the day I ate healthy (probably like 50/50) but I also ate like 3-6 (sometimes maybe more) cookies a day!!
.
When healing its important to acknowledge how far you’ve come and find healthy ways to still enjoy life. Chocolate is a great way for me to do that 😋

One of the more important things in the nutrition world is your ability to absorb what you’re eating.
.
If you’re not absorbing the food you’re eating, you aren’t getting as many benefits from your healthy diet as you may think.
.
How do we absorb food then, and even water ?
.
Water follows salt on a physical level, so sodium, and other mineral electrolytes are crucial for proper hydration. Our water is depleted of many nutrients through filtration and we need to ensure we’re replacing them.
.
My favorite ways of hydrating are to get the much-needed minerals through things like mineral dense food, aloe vera water, and coconut water but you can also buy electrolyte mixes if need be.
.
Some nutrients have a synergistic effect when eaten together, meaning the sum of the two together are greater than the individual parts. One example is black pepper and turmeric, or vitamin C and E. Food pairing is a great practice to have when eating especially for people on vegetarian diets. An an example would be vitamin C rich peppers alongwith high iron foods like spinach increase the absorption of both. Add in a low glycemic starch like sweet potato and you’ve increased it further, as carbohydrates facilitate nutrient absorption.
.
Fermented foods or probiotics also help with absorbing nutrients. Get them from a non- dairy yogurt like coconut yogurt or sauerkraut for the highest amount of microbial diversity and CFU.
.
Eat slowly and mindfully. Mindful slow eating can really help the body access nutrients when the surface area of your meal is exposed to digestive enzymes.
You can also consume food that donate extra digestive enzymes, with pineapple being a great source of bromelain, a powerful proteolytic enzyme.
.
Curries, gazapacho, soups, and vegetables that are cooked longer can also aid in absorption and be easier on the stomach.
.
You also want to ensure you’re body’s not in dysbiosis, with leaky gut or other issues preventing proper absorption.
.

One of the things that you want to consider when you’re trying to rid your body of toxins are that there are two phases of liver detoxification, and both are highly dependent on each other to successfully rid the body of toxins and get you feeling back to normal !

What are some of the best ways to support the liver? I want to stress that it’s pretty important to ensure both pathways are functioning optimally! When phase 1 sends the toxins to phase 2 it needs to be functioning optimally or else the toxins aren’t properly eliminated!

1 frozen banana
Two handfuls frozen blueberries
Handful of dates
1 avocado
1/2 cup milk of choice
1-2 tbsp cocoa powder
1 scoop Paleo pro Ancient cacao protein powder or protein powder of choice !
Blend well

Topped with:

Chia seeds
Blueberries
Muesli
Hazelnuts

Protein : 38 g

My meal checklist that promotes healthy digestion and prevents cognitive decline:
.
-Rainbow veggies ( exciting and diverse colors, textures, and flavor profiles)
-Protein (can sub for tempeh or lentils)
-Fat ( I chose my cooked veggie dressing)
-Dark leafy greens ( I like to add cilantro to my salad for its powerful ability to aid in detoxification (will go into extensive detail in the next post !)
.
Depending on your health goal, you can add either more fats/protein (keto) i.e., more meats, avocado, seeds, or nuts, OR a healthy complex carb such as farro, quinoa, brown rice, or sweet potato.
