We need help so that people can walk up to get food boxes from CTFB who refuses to do this, & thus fails the most Needy & Homeless, those without cars. Below is my email to the whole City Council today. I hope you can help. TY. Ruth Fischer, Sacred Heart Parishioner. XX. God Bless.
"Here is your message:
Your Name: RUTH FISCHER
Your e-mail address: [email protected]
Subject: CENTRAL TEXAS FOOD BANK NEEDS INCENTIVE TO SERVE WALK-UPS AT DISTRIBUTION SITES. THE MOST NEEDY.
Message: Hi. Thank you for reading this & please consider investigating why CTFB cannot find a way to serve those on foot rather than those driving through for the food boxes each week. Hope Lutheran Church is able to do a curbside, so CTFB should be able to figure a way for all to be safe. Just put out boxes & have traffic control for distancing. Use tape on ground for spacing. Here is my last correspondence with them. At least they need to let it be known on all info re the proxy system that requires a call in, which is really a barrier to the most needy & Homeless. Please someone take this on. Thank you. Ruth Fischer, District 1 & close to 4. " Central Texas Food Bank

Central Texas Food Bank For the safety of everyone, we are not accepting walk-ups. Families can sign up for our proxy program to send someone else on their behalf to pick up food for them. If you would like to learn more about this program and the logistics of our distributions, feel free to contact our distribution programs manager at 512-684-2540.

Ruth Fischer Central Texas Food Bank why a proxy even needed, as anyone can drive through, though if they want 2 servings then yes a proxy. Please put that on your flyers & posts with phone # as many do not have computers. It would be easier for folks to walk near the cars & ask someone to pick up a box for them too. When the car gets to the serving pint, they could point to the person standing way back. My phone is lost. Please forward to your distribution manager & PR who handles the flyers. You cannot ignore the most needy. Plus language is a problem, a barrier. Illiteracy is a barrier. ty. they can reply by Email to [email protected]. TY. Wheatsville loves local!
For the last 20 years, Steve Kramer and Carey Burkett have been farming 100 acres of fertile, high-iron, red sandy loam near Fredonia, Texas, about 107 miles west of Austin. Their farm, Buena Tierra Farm, produces some of the highest quality organic produce in the region. Swing by our produce department for their purple, red and Yukon gold potatoes!
