This Valentine’s Day, The Inviting Pear celebrates 20 incredible years of helping couples bring their love stories to life through custom wedding stationery. From our first design to the thousands of love-filled invitations, thank you for being part of this journey.

Thank you to my family who has always been a part of my business (from my sister working bridal shows in the early days to my mom sewing banners and my dad building my rentals). They have always gone above and beyond. To my husband, who back in the day would tie ribbon (he’s since retired) and is currently my accountant, I couldn’t have done all of this without you. Thanks for being the best husband and father to our two boys.

To Arielle, my graphic artist and sounding board for almost 10 years, where has the time gone?! Only a fellow Scorpio could understand me and the business as much as you do. There’s no way I can thank you enough. Finally, this wouldn’t be complete without thanking the Austin community and friendors. You make it possible to be a successful small business.

Meet the Designer!

If you’ve commissioned us for a watercolor, you’ve seen Arielle’s beautiful work. As the senior graphic designer and artist at The Inviting Pear, she’s been on the team for 8 years.

Here are some fun facts about her:

Q: What song will get you on the dance floor?
A: Anything by ABBA!

Q: If you weren’t a graphic designer, what would you do?
A: I have a big collection of houseplants and I love propagating them, so I can imagine that I would really enjoy working in a greenhouse.

Q: What are three items you’d take with you to a deserted island?
A: My sketchbook, a kindle and sturdy tent!

Shannon, a graphic designer, founded The Inviting Pear 18 years ago. Here are some fun facts about her:

Q: What song will get you on the dance floor?
A: Usher's “Yeah” but really any upbeat song. I love to dance even when I look like an idiot.

Q: If you weren't a graphic designer, what would you do?
A: I'd probably be a chef. I love baking and cooking and have passed that on to both of my boys. My 14-year-old is quite the baker (he's known for his homemade soft pretzels!).

Q: What’s your most interesting/embarrassing office story?
A: It was my first day of work at the end of the day, and the elevator broke down. I was stuck in between floors for several hours and all of my coworkers could see me as they left for the day. Due to obvious reasons, I wasn’t allowed to climb out of the elevator so I just sat there. It was incredibly embarrassing but turned out to be a funny story.
