I officially have a TEENAGER. 😭
For my daughters, 13th birthday, we set up a little DIY tote bag bar where the girls could choose their favorite patches and press their own tote bags.
I had my xTool WonderPress set up and fully expected to spend the entire party standing there pressing everyone’s bags…
Except the girls basically said, “We’ve got it.” 😂 And they DID.
They picked their patches, arranged their designs, and pressed their own bags with barely any help from me.
One thing I really loved was the pull-out tray. It comes completely out of the machine, so they could arrange everything away from the heating area, slide the whole tray back in, and let the WonderPress do its thing. It was simple enough that I wasn’t hovering over them the entire time, which, with a group of 13-year-olds, is saying something. 😂
Watching everyone leave with a completely different bag they designed themselves was SO fun.
Oh, and if you're planning a party yourself, I love a party favor they’ll actually use…rather than throw away!
Pretty sure the tote bar was officially a hit!

My daughter’s friend is OBSESSED with Draco Malfoy, and when she asked me if we could make a mirror where Draco looked like he was leaning in to kiss her cheek…
Obviously the answer was yes.
So we took an old 12x12 IKEA mirror tile I’ve had sitting around for YEARS and gave it the most ridiculous glow-up.
✨ Laser-cut border
✨ A little help from ChatGPT creating our kissy-face Draco
✨ Remove Background in Adobe Illustrator
✨ UV printed directly onto the mirror
And somehow… it WORKED. 😂
The positioning might be my favorite part because when she stands in front of it, Draco is literally leaning in for a kiss.
She absolutely LOST IT when she saw it.
So, … I’m sorry? You’ve officially become home decor. 😂
And this is exactly why I love having all these random tools in my studio. Someone comes to me with a completely unhinged idea and instead of asking, “Where would we even buy that?”
I get to say…
“Wait. I think I can make it.”
Now I need to know: who would the teenager in YOUR life want leaning into their mirror? 😂

One thing that confused me SO much as a beginner was the difference between scoring, engraving, and cutting 😵💫
Scoring is basically your laser making a LIGHT surface mark instead of cutting all the way through.
You’ll often use it for:
✨ outlines
✨ detail lines
✨ fold guides
✨ lining up layered projects
Sometimes, getting familiar with laser terms like this make learning your machine SO much less overwhelming
Save this for later if you’re learning lasers! 💛

WonderPress is finally in stock!
I’ve been wanting to do a some bending acrylic projects with my xTool WonderPress ever since I got it!
As laser makers, we spend a lot of time cutting beautiful things out of acrylic but at the end of the day, most of those pieces come out of the laser completely flat.
But then what happens when you add HEAT?
I laser cut these flower pieces from different colors of acrylic, then used the Heat Pressing Module on the xTool WonderPress to warm the acrylic so I could gently shape the petals.
And look at the difference. 😍
Same laser-cut acrylic… but now it has curves, dimension, and so much more character.
THIS is what has me excited about adding WonderPress to my studio.
I’m not necessarily looking for another machine to make completely different projects—I want tools that help me do more with the projects I’m already making.
And combining laser cutting + heat forming opens up a whole new category of ideas.
Now my brain is officially going down the rabbit hole. 😂 What else should I try heat forming?!

Here's the lineup for our one day together!!
✨ Sarah Vanderkooy (Creative Ramblings) Sarah's been working with lasers and craft tech for years and shares reviews, projects, and tutorials to help makers move forward with confidence. She's teaching us how to make an "Acrylic Watermelon Slice Clock" — you'll cut, score, and layer acrylic to build a fun, modern watermelon-themed clock from start to finish, plus pick up her best tips for working with acrylic so you get clean edges and great results every time.
✨ Gwynn Jones (Create with Gwynn) Gwynn Jones is a maker, educator, and creative entrepreneur who believes great projects don't have to be complicated to be impactful. As the owner of Olive + Oak Creative Studio and founder of Gettin' Creative, she teaches laser owners and handmade sellers how to elevate their designs, build confidence, and create pieces people love. Gwynn is teaching "Kinusaiga - Made Simple & Safe" — Kinusaiga is a trendy, fabric-based craft technique, but not all foam used for it is laser-safe. After a lot of testing, Gwynn found an option that's laser-safe, cuts beautifully, and works perfectly as a Kinusaiga base. You'll learn exactly what to use, what to avoid, and how to bring this technique into your own laser projects.
✨ ME! I'll be hosting the day and teaching a session of her own: "Custom Leather & Wood Monogram Bag Tag." You'll layer wood and leather (or faux leather) with an engraved monogram letter on top, and Bail will walk you through designing the scalloped pieces in Illustrator, building seamless layers, prepping your materials, and engraving a detailed floral texture. Swap the wood tone, leather color, or ribbon, and it becomes a totally different look — perfect as a bag tag, a gift tag, or strung together to spell out a name.
✨ Angie Holden (The Country Chic Cottage) Angie is on a mission to prove laser crafting isn't just for the pros — she turns "wait, I can laser THAT?" moments into simple, approachable tutorials. She's teaching "DIY Felt Banner with Any Laser" — you'll learn to cut felt on your laser and turn it into banners for parties, home decor, and more. She's also throwing in a bonus: her Laser Sign Bundle, four SVG sign files (Hello Summer, Home Sweet Home, Fresh Cut Flower Market, and Life is Better at the Barn).
Each session follows the same format: a live, full project walkthrough, then live Q&A with that presenter.
