Hand forged knives, primitive weapons and historic possibles. My name is Robert Garcia and I've been making and using primitive weapons for over 20 years.

All my knives, except some throwers, are hand forged from high carbon steels. I heat treat, temper and test all blades before they go out. I make primitive, rustic knives using only natural handle materials for handles and sheathes. I might make an exception if you REALLY must have modern handle and sheath material (Micarta, Kydex..) My son, Milo and I participate in primitive weapon competitions

Onto City Hall! Our friend and colleague, Andy, from Archery Country was also here trying to meet with City Council members or the Mayor in the hopes of being “allowed a meeting” with my city representatives.

Call them please and tell them what the Austin Archery Club means to you!!!

The more I learn it seems the club and the city need better communication. The city and our members both take ADA regulations and have been diligent in our efforts to ensure ALL archers regardless of “ableness” are able to play. So if this is all about regulations we’re not just meeting, but exceeding expectations.

They have never stepped foot on this property. They want to make unreasonable demands upon the club that would negatively impact wildlife, and if getting their attention and time is as difficult as I’ve encountered the last 2-3 days then yeah, I can imagine it’s been difficult to communicate and help them better understand that their red tape requirements are not in the best interest of the archers, other surrounding sports communities, wildlife and conservation of this space.

Get on the horn please TODAY and express your concerns about the City of Austin shutting down our beloved club with 30 days notice after 50 years!

I had a conversation with Suzanne, with COA PARD, regarding the status of the Austin Archery Club moments ago.

I explained to her how it was in part the Austin Archery Club that helped make that happen for me. They hosted a fundraiser allowing me to compete at The Pan American Games in Argentina in 2023. She said she appreciated my passion and that my story gave her literal chills.

Please go call our representatives and explain to them what they’re taking away from our community. Please be polite. Tell them how much this club means to you, then sign the petition.

Do it today!!!

Our baby boy grew up at the Austin Archery Club. It’s been a home away from home, only 15 minutes from the house. Another dwindling green space. Is this Austin, TX or Houston, TX?

We had a blast Arkansas Renaissance Festival this weekend for their Viking Thing Festival.

The festival put on a warrior challenge which allowed me to work with a bunch of aspiring archers.

Everyone who came enjoyed this thoroughly. I heard so many patrons just so excited and happy to be here even as chilly as it is.

Big love to all my weekend warriors!
