World Mental Health day brings attention to mental health and wellness issues. Let’s all work to eradicate the stigmas around mental illness and treatment. (Photo credit Total Shape)
Time in nature is good for your well-being. You should shoot for 120 min. per week.
This month (May) is Mental Health Awareness Month. It is an opportunity to both decrease stigma around mental illness and to raise awareness about behaviors that promote mental health and wellness. I’m proud to keep momentum going on both of these important priorities.
I hope you are all safe out there. Patients without power can message me for refills via email if unable to meet virtually. No cancellation fees for this situation- obviously. Also, the after hours system has been off and on due to power issues. Please call 911 or safely get to ER if unable to reach our team after hours and things cannot wait. Do not send emergent-urgent emails as uncertain if I will have power to respond to messages.
Your mental health isn’t just as important as your physical health- they are too interrelated to try to separate.

Here in Travis county, due to COVID19, the medical community is in desperate need of masks, medical gowns, gloves, and at some facilities bleach wipes and alcohol based sanitizer. Until our suppliers can provider more, I am asking people if you have any of these items to donate for local health care workers. Supplies can be dropped off at the Travis County Medical Society offices M-F 9-6pm. Please call 512-206-1249 prior to arrival and someone will come out to you in the parking lot. Please only bring supplies in unopened boxes. TCMS will then coordinate the distribution of these supplies to physician offices. The Travis County Medical Society is located at 4300 N.
