These people are so caring & you can see they love their visiting animals. They are a happy, concerned friendly group, it is fun to go there, & I trust them completely.
Companion Animal Hospital SAVED MY DOG’S LIFE. More than once, in fact. We’ve been clients since we adopted our little guy 9 years ago, and he’s been known to get himself into a little bit of trouble (PSA: green acorns are extremely poisonous to small dogs—keep them far away!) but it was this summer that we nearly lost him for good.

Fonzie is our precocious 10 year old Chihuahua mix, and he was suddenly lethargic and stopped eating and drinking for a few days...an exam, urinalysis and blood test revealed a *major* problem with his kidneys. They immediately administered dialysis & antibiotics, ran bacteria cultures, bloodwork, and eventually provided us with subcutaneous fluids along with having regular bloodwork to keep monitoring his kidney functions... it was six weeks of being on a roller coaster of fear and sadness, followed by a tiny bit of hope and then some setbacks. But, now it seems like we might be in the clear! The diagnosis? Acute renal failure due to pyelonephritis... he had developed a horrific bacterial kidney infection because we waited too long between DENTAL CLEANINGS. Yes, this whole experience could have been avoided. Y’all, I am now a woman on a mission: DO NOT WAIT to take your dog or cat in for regular dentals!! (Small breed dogs are especially prone to periodontal disease.) CAH has top of the line technology to provide the best care possible. Nine tooth extractions later (two of which were abscesses that weren’t obvious without xrays), Fonzie is in recovery and the source of the bacteria that made him so sick in the first place has been eliminated!

Last but certainly not least, I want to review the character of the staff at CAH. In nine years of service, we’ve seen a lot of employees come and go, but let me tell you about some of our favorite people there who are kind and compassionate, extremely smart and very trustworthy. Lindsey and Barbara greet you when you call or come in, and go out of their way to accommodate you for appointment availability. They provided markers and paper for my daughters when we were there for long hours visiting Fonzie, and even shared coffee and a snack with me one morning when I showed up frazzled from my own medical emergency. Marissa and Niki treat Fonzie like a super star all day-everyday, and offered such loving comfort and advice (when I asked for it), plus even met with me outside of office hours to provide care. They checked up on us through phone calls, emails and texts—they have truly become friends who feel like family.
And let’s not forget the doctors: we have known and loved Dr. Brown since day one—her experience and knowledge is unparalleled, and her relationship with Fonzie is untouchable. ☺️ Dr. Geigel-Ortiz joined the practice about a year ago, and we have been nothing short of impressed. He adds innovative practices and technology, combined with friendly warmth and an obvious love of animals. We even collaborated and called in a mobile acupuncturist (don’t knock it, he was great and I think helped!), and I am forever grateful that he never, ever gave up on helping our beloved Fonzie.

I absolutely recommend taking your pet family to CAH. It will be the beginning of a beautiful, lifelong relationship. Also, BOOK THAT DENTAL!! 🦷 😁
Cheerful loving employees, cleanliness, lots of doctor attention, all in all a very happy experience.

I just saw this, so please tell Dr Leary that The Hudman’s sends many hugs and Thank you for servicing our loving pets. Please send her our love to her and Congratulations!

After 25 years, we just had our last visit with the bestest, most favoritest vets ever. 🙁 We’ll sorely miss the doctors and staff at Companion Animal Hospital.
Best wishes to you all!
I walked faster and further today. Your friend (and patient) ❤️❤️
