🖤Celebrate Galentine’s Day with us! 🖤

Our next styling class is February 13th at 7pm. This class is a styling class whether or not you have extensions. We go over how to wash and blow dry your hair, how to style, products to use, and any various tools you want to learn about. You can bring in your own tools or use ours.

This class benefits our trip to Cambodia, where we will be teaching women how to cut hair so they can provide for themselves and their children. We are giving them the gift of a skill that will change their lives!

✨I don’t JUST do hair. It’s never JUST hair✨

Five years, this woman walked into my salon to have her hair done. We have been through long hair, short hair (I’ll never forget this phone call 😆)dating ups and downs, swiping my Bumble 🫣She and her sister became the realtors I use. Even getting her first dog, Stella 🖤

I’ve watched her grow. Grow in her career. Grow into an amazing woman. And now grow in her relationship.💍
I remember when she and Otto first started dating…and kept dating…and started traveling…and bought their place together, and then the engagement 💍 Watching her glow✨and love in this relationship is such an privilege.

Then she asked me to do her hair for her wedding. I don’t do weddings much anymore but I absolutely LOVE doing them for my clients. We already have a relationship, so it makes the day so much more special.

I’ve said it before…and I will always say it. Being a hairstylist, is so much more than doing hair. The relationships we build are priceless. Watching these women grow is an honor.

We are a private, calm salon space in Central Austin. Nestled among old houses turned businesses, its hard to even tell you are in the hustle and bustle of our growing city!

When creating the salon space, the goal was to make this a space where everyone feels comfortable! It’s been called ”an introvert’s dream!”

Is Mercury Retrograde…September….what ever is going on over with?!

Good Gawd it was a heavy month.

*I’ve been burglarized. 👮🏽‍♂️
*Lost my dog, Ollie. 💔
*Had my heart broken, better yet put through a wood chipper. 😵‍💫
*Been yelled at by a client. 😳
*Lost a photoshoot because I didn’t respond on a HOLIDAY. 🫣
*Had the most insane requests of me as a friend, as a stylist, and as an owner. 🤯
*Lost people who I thought were friends. 🤡
*Been taken advantage of. 🙁
*Cried. A lot. 🥺

All while smiling, laughing, and joking behind the chair. But in all honesty, I am trying to not burst into tears…and I had a client tell me she could see it in me. I guess I can’t hide it anymore.

I’ve bust my ass through a global pandemic to have this business stand here. I’ve worked so hard make sure each and every client is happy. But I’m clearly not queso or tacos because there’s still those I’ll never make happy.

I finally have to take some time off for me. What does this mean? My schedule will be changing over the next months to allow me time to breathe, to recover. I will be working Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, & Saturdays.

What will that look like? Boundaries, mostly. I am unable answer messages after hours or on closed days. I am unable work late or come in early. If days are unavailable on my calendar, they are unavailable. I will do my best to accommodate you. And I truly appreciate you understanding 🖤

I have full confidence in my stylists and their skills. Do not be afraid to book with them!! And also…PREBOOK your appointments! We love it because we can plan for you instead of scrambling.

Here’s to the last three months of 2022! We’re on to bigger and better! Love y’all to pieces! 🖤

Well…first our team is GROWING! Stephanie has officially joined the team and is taking clients. She is well versed in extensions! We will be adding at least ONE, but potentially TWO more stylists to the team.

Second, we are coming into our insanely busy season! Holidays are coming up so make sure you are pre booking your appointments. 🗓️

And third…we are partnering with HairAid for a mission trip to Cambodia in 2023. We will be working closely to teach hair cutting skills to a population who would not normally have access to the education to gain this skill. Ask about it next time you’re in the salon! We will be doing fundraising events soon…check your email or reach out to me directly if you are interested in helping plan, organize, etc those type of events. (I know where my strengths are and I need help! 😆)

And lastly, as many of you have seen when you come into the salon, our salon was burglarized the first of September. The impact was significant, but I am working diligently to come back from the incident. Please know when you are in salon, you will see our door as the first physical sign. I’m trying to “lean into it” and decorate with caution tape and spider webs for the Halloween holiday 🎃 👻 but fingers crossed it will be repaired soon!

Keep us in your thoughts & prayers! It was the last thing a small business needed after the impact of 2020.

Amidst all the chaos of the past few days, I’m reminded of all the positive this career has brought to my life.

What’s the point of chaos if you don’t learn anything from it? So what have I learned…

*Some things need to be tightened up.
*I ALWAYS make it work. I ALWAYS figure it out.

This second chance career, this second chance life has given me more than I ever could have imagined. One small set back, won’t set me back. I have proved my business model and career to be recession proof and pandemic proof. The last thing that will rattle my fu***ng cage is a POS breaking in and taking my s**t 🖕🏼

Haha jk. Well kinda. I am out of the salon until August 2.

Taking a much needed mental, physical, and emotion break. The past two and half years have been a rollercoaster to say the least. But lately, I’ve really been feeling the downs more than the ups. I hope to come back recharged, refueled, and refocused. 🖤

Before our lives were forever changed.

With my rock, my best friend, my little sister, my heart.

If you’ve ever sat in my chair, you may have heard this story.

She wanted to get our cards read. I was a little skeptical but went anyway. The walk to the card reader was a trip in and of itself. But once we got there, I walked in to the reader and was offered the opportunity to record my reading.

I was hoping he would tell me about things I was currently dealing with…selling the house I had when I was married…dating…blah blah blah. But he didn’t. He kept talking about this “space for work”, about a space for events. I kept telling him I already had a space. He said “whatever this is…will happen in 10 weeks.” Pretty specific right?

So, I come back to Austin. Go about my normal business. I’m driving to a distributor one day and see that the very first salon I ever worked at was up for lease. Immediately I called my old owner. He said yep it’s available. I put my application in.

March 3, 2020 I signed a lease on my dream space.
March 21, 2020 I was shut down by quarantine. I was FU***NG TERRIFIED.
So the entire quarantine, I worked with my mom to overhaul the entire space.

May 15, 2020 I was able to reopen. It was slow. Clients were hesitant. I was scared.

It was 10 weeks later. It was literally in my cards. It was meant to be. I did it. I’m doing it. I’m still scared some times. I’m celebrating other times. But I’m here…I made it. I know nothing other than pandemic ownership.

My two year anniversary is around the corner, y’all. TWO years. Thank you to each and every one of you who trusted me and my decisions through all of this! 🖤🖤🖤

There’s something to be said for being a part of a client’s wedding day. Since 2018, I’ve watched her and her now HUSBAND grow.

I remember the day he proposed to her. She was “just meeting some friends” and we had JUST done her hair that day. Whew right?!

Then 2020 hit and plans were put on hold. She called and said “can you do my hair and makeup? We’re doing it just us”

And now here they are. Husband and wife…in celebration with family and friends. 🥂

As I got her ready this day, she looked in the mirror and I felt like we both teared up. It’s such an honor to actually KNOW your bride, to feel the emotion for her day.
