Covid-19: Free Tools for Managing Chronic Pain at Home

Chronic pain sufferers: During these challenging times it is common to worry about how you might manage chronic symptoms at home. It is also common to experience a flare-up of existing chronic symptoms. This is a normal, human response. Many chronic symptoms (and flare-ups) can be safely managed at home through science-based techniques. Curable is an app that’s specifically designed to guide you through this process. Several of Curable's most popular audio exercises are currently available to the public for free at this link: https://www.curablehealth.com/covid-19

I met these folks while attending the APTA's Combined Sections Meeting in February. They have a lot of great content and science-backed self-care interventions. Curable is also working with healthcare professionals to help provide access to their tools free of charge. As such, they have granted me the ability to offer you 6 weeks of free access to the full Curable program. If you are interested in this, please comment here and I will send you an invitation to begin the program and receive 6 weeks free.

Patients who listened to binaural beats during surgery required significantly less anesthesia as compared to those listening to classical music or a blank recording. Interesting tool we can use to calm our nervous system and have some control over how we experience pain. http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1046/j.1365-2044.1999.00958.x/full

My Story

I am a licensed Physical Therapist with over 30 years of experience in sports rehabilitation. First, as an Athletic Trainer (ATC) and Massage Therapist and, in 2000, I went on to become a Physical Therapist. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with athletes and performing artists of all ages and competitive levels. My clients range from “fitness enthusiasts” to Olympians and professional athletes. As a former national-caliber swimmer and world-ranked masters swimmer, I appreciate the importance and struggle of maintaining a healthy body for peak performance. No matter who we are or what we do, we are all looking to be our best and live life to the fullest.

Are you struggling with recurrent injuries? Are you recovering from an injury, but not sure how to safely get back to your normal training routine?

I can help.

We will collaborate to develop a personalized program to address movement dysfunction and apply the same sports science and technology used by professional athletes to get you back to doing what you love and reach your performance goals! Click HERE to learn more about my Return-to-Sport Consulting. I look forward to working with you!
