Over the past 15 months, as we awaited the decision on Babis’ visa, I spent a great deal of time in prayer, meditation, and scripture. Ultimately, the visa decision was denied by immigration, but during that tempestuous limbo, God began to change my heart. This brought on a paradigm shift in terms of how I pursue my dreams. After 13 years of running for glory in the live music industry, I’ve decided to wrap up Roxy Roca and free up my bandmates to continue pursuing their music careers.
I want to be crystal clear that this decision has fallen solely on me and has nothing to do with any internal conflicts within the band. If you are looking for dedicated musicians who are “ride or die,” look no further than Ryan Greenblatt and Quinn Walls.
I know this will come as a shock to many of our devoted fans, and from the bottom of my heart, I’d like to thank you all for supporting us over the years and look forward to seeing your faces in the future. In the meantime, I am off on a mission trip to Honduras to see what Christ has in store for me. Big love to you all. - Taye Cannon
