Call or email for a store near you. Tula Hats are hand woven of palm in the traditional manner.
The palm is grown in warm coastal areas. This sustainable fiber is harvested twice a year. The new shoots are cut and then placed in the dew where the fronds are flipped over and over for eight days. Then they are placed in a palapa fire made of adobe where the palm is cooked for a day in sulfur that whitens the palm. From there the palm is bundled and sent to market where the weavers purchase it.

After lunch at Central Bbq the Garden Flingers went shopping at the fabulous Millstone Market and Nursery. They have the happiest most well cared for plants 🪴. I almost bought the coolest 😎 cooper pick stem holders (see pic) but then realized they probably wouldn’t make it through security. Not to worry Millstone has an online store so I can have them shipped!

It’s been wonderful visiting the public parks, botanical gardens and private gardens in Memphis. I’ve joined this year’s Garden Fling as a sponsor and a flinger! The Garden Fling is an annual meet up of garden writers, and garden social media. Looking forward to more gardens tomorrow!
