This one is a bit of a drive from campus, but we promise that it's worth it. Uptown Cheapskate is located on South Lamar and has the perfect combination of high-end boutique finds and affordable resale from well-known shops. Bright, spacious, and well-curated - this shop is a must-visit for thrifting fans.
2) STAX Vintage & Sneakers
Located on MLK Blvd, this shop is just minutes from campus and has the best collection of 90s clothing in the city. Drop-in for amazing vibes and an even better selection of vintage threads and sneakers.
3) Monkies Vintage and Thrift
Established in 2014 and serving up styles from the 1950s to the 1990s, Monkies is a popular student favorite located conveniently on the Drag across from campus. Drop by and check out their epic selection of concert tees!
4) Texas Shoe Exchange
The love and appreciation for vintage footwear runs deep here and rabid fans of classic treads will feel like they've died and gone to heaven. Check out their selection of old-school Nikes, Adidas, and more.
5) Charm School Vintage
Located in a cute house on East 11th Street, Charm School Vintage sells women's vintage clothing and wigs. Focused on selling clothing with a story, as well as spirituality and ethical sourcing, swing by for their beautifully curated selection of clothing or for one of their wellness workshops.

I left a bag full of clothing on a Sunday to be appraised because the store was closing. One of the items was a one of a kind Marc by Marc Jacobs purse in deep purple with gorgeous red straps from Burgdorf Goodman in Pebble Leather. I was tired of looking at the purse in my closet and was considering selling it. Much to my dismay, the purse went missing while in the possession of UPTOWN CHEAPSKATE. I was told the owner would call me. He didn't. I went to the store a week later and told the Manager at the front that I was very dissatisfied and needed to speak to the owner. He waited two days before texting me, no call. Then said he needed time to look over the security tapes. Then passed me off to another manager because he was on vacation. Again, much to my dismay he was unable to find anything and said that my purse was probably donated to charity. I do not UNDERSTAND how this is possible.
If the world is created of good and bad then the owner of Uptown Cheap needs to look in the mirror and join the light and be a nice human being. I simply wanted $40 dollars for the inconvenience. Unfortunately, this was DENIED by the Owner Himself...............

Do you know this person? He carefully planned a theft, parking his black Toyota Rav in the back of the store, then walked around to the front and gathered hundreds of dollars worth of items before he walked out the back without paying. He appears to be a White or Hispanic male with a small build, very dark brown or black hair in a short pony tail.
We will be posting several videos and pictures of the crime and provide a reward to anyone who can help identify him. The police should have an ID on his car shortly.
