Children learn about the world and retain information best when they play and explore using all of their senses. Sensory bins are a fun and easy way to provide multisensory input. They can be easily modified by changing the filler or add-ins to keep it fun and interesting!

Children love to be independent and feel in control. Increasing pressure on children to speak may actually DECREASE their willingness to talk.

People should not be defined by their disability. It is important to use person-first language. Instead of saying "a Down's kid" or "a Down syndrome person," say "a person/child with Down syndrome."

[02/15/21]   *Winter Weather Update: Monday February 15, 2021*
CTG is closed Monday 2/15/21 and Tuesday 2/16/21. All therapists are planning on doing teletherapy these two days. Please plan on logging on at the time of your appointment and if your therapist does not log on, please assume he/she is without power and internet. We will try to reschedule any missed sessions later this week, if possible. We will update this page as we know more about the weather and have the capability to do so. We hope you are warm and safe!

[05/01/20]   *CTG Update*
We are happy to announce that we are reopening on Monday May 11, 2020! We will be implementing a systematic, slow return to normal with our top priority being our patient and staff health and safety! We are implementing specific protocols for coming into the clinic as well as continuing teletherapy. Your therapist will be contacting you with information about our reopening. We look forward to seeing y'all again soon!

[03/21/20]   *CTG Update*
Effective Monday March 23, 2020, CTG will be temporarily closing the clinic to in-person therapy. We have made this decision to protect our patients, staff, and their families. We are very excited to offer teletherapy to allow your child to continue to receive therapy from the comfort of their home. Just like our colleagues in medicine, we believe continuation of services and the ability to receive therapy is crucial for not only maintaining skills but also a way to bring some form of familiarity, normalcy, and structure to our patients' weeks. We have had great success with our patients who have already started receiving teletherapy.

We will continue to have our front desk and billing staff at the clinic on a limited, socially distanced basis Monday - Friday. Please continue to call the clinic for scheduling, rescheduling, cancellations, and any insurance or billing questions. Additionally, your therapist will be contacting you about the transition to teletherapy.

We will keep you updated about our clinic reopening. Wishing everyone well!
Love,
Your CTG Family

[03/18/20]   *CTG Update*
To continue protective measures for our patients and families, we are asking that anyone (patient/family, staff) who has traveled out of the Austin area for Spring Break or otherwise, to not return to the clinic for two weeks following your return to Austin. This is out of an abundance of caution to help everyone remain healthy. We are providing Teletherapy services for those patients who are not able to receive in-clinic therapy. Please call the clinic to reschedule your in-clinic appointments and to discuss Teletherapy. Teletherapy is an excellent option for remote therapy services, especially in times like these where health and safety is of utmost importance. Thank you for understanding and thank you for your cooperation!

[03/17/20]   *CTG Update*
We offering some optional alternatives for maintaining the health of our patients, families, and staff. In addition to our current measures, we are offering to pick up/drop off patients at their cars (call the clinic when you arrive) and begin offering teletherapy for families wishing to stay at home. Please call us to let us know if you prefer these options: (512) 331-4115. Stay well, CTG family!

[03/15/20]   *CTG News*
In addition to our daily cleaning protocol to keep our clinic a healthy environment for all, we are implementing extra precautions in light of the coronavirus. We will have informational sheets posted in our reception area detailing these measures. We are monitoring the situation and will keep you updated should any change in our normal routine occur. Please be assured we are doing everything we can to protect our patients, their families, and our staff. Love, the CTG Family.
