The Assistance League of Austin's® annual fundraiser, Clothes for Kids, began September 18 and runs until October 31. Your donation in any amount will help provide new school clothes to elementary, middle and high school students.

This week's Member Monday features our incoming President, the fabulous Linda Noy!

Linda says, "I'm Linda Noy and a 10-year member of ALA. Operation School Bell brought me to this organization because my husband, an AISD school counselor, spent years bringing students from his campuses to this program to receive school clothes. When I retired, he told me that I would love volunteering here. He was right!

My greatest joy in recent years has been working on campuses to improve the life of teachers and the school experience of children through the Operation Wish List program. After 43 years in public education, this volunteer work is a natural extension of my passion for education.

Members like me are fueled by the smiles and laughter of children when they see the Toy Cart filled with books and toys coming onto the hospital floor. And there is nothing more heartwarming than the sincere appreciation of teachers and their students when we make their classrooms richer places for learning."
