Here’s an interesting artifact I just got in the mail thanks to Marco from - a gig that was promoted but never materialized due to unknown reasons. Marco doesn’t remember so if anyone knows please contact me to provide any additional information.

Blasphemy was effectively broken up after their last gig in 1994 with Antichrist so it’s even odd that anyone was in touch with them about a gig. My theory is that Ace was still trying to keep the band going in 95 because his letter from 97 hints at that. No one else in the band remembers this gigs.

This is a direct extension of their established sound—no updates, no compromises. The influence of early Godflesh and Beherit’s Drawing Down the Moon is clear, but Ride for Revenge reshapes it into something more stripped down and ugly. Blending black metal and doom into a singular, crawling entity, the band pushes a bass-and-drums-driven approach, often sidelining guitars in favor of low-end weight and primitive rhythm. Angels Fly Low is a dense, suffocating listen: filthy, slow-moving, and immersive in its repetitiveness. The emphasis is on atmosphere and weight, with a low-end presence that pulls everything into the abyss below.
