Ever wonder how some cabinets look so perfectly thought out and put together?! A designer somewhere took the time to find that perfect k**b, pull, and labeled where each one is to be mounted. I love spending quality time in my clients' homes as they are slowly becoming their best finished product.

This relaxing dining space was just featured in an article from The Spruce. Go check it out! (Architecture by James LaRue Architects).

🎤 Had a fantastic time speaking about KBIS at The Marketplace’s monthly mixer last night! Such a pleasure to connect with fellow design/build professionals and explore the array of showcasing brands. ✨

After a long Social Media hiatus, we are back and excited to share our past and present projects we are working on! If you have a blog post request? Let me know! We are always looking for fun things to write about! New project post coming tomorrow!

An incredible experience exploring the latest in design at IBS Vegas 2024! 🌟 Here's to bringing fresh ideas and innovation back home!

Mirror hanging day on a job site. Being on the sunshine and brass bling.❤

And so it begins!! Next Lake Waco house is underway. Beautiful house with a spectacular view. Keep an eye out for more progress photos. It is going to be a showstopper!

Love how this dining room feels like we are sitting outside...while enjoying the air-conditioning. Floor to ceiling windows are still going strong in the design world, along with great conversational tables and Bling-Bling lighting.

A little Spring Break architecture tour in San Antonio this week. The Alamo, old hotels and missions, riverwalk, stained glass and all the Mexican food we could handle. 💕

Happy St. Patrick's Day! While drawing diligently on a remodel I sent the hubby to answer the "call of the siren" for breakfast, which was a good reminder to change clothes to something GREEN! Protect yourselves from those pesky Leprechauns and have a fun and productive day today.

Fun with Wallpaper! I truly love what wallpaper has become. From architectural lines to hanging with the monkeys, all personalities are welcome.

Is your preference for your living room rug to blend in with its surroundings? Or serve as a piece of art? We love using them in design both ways. The variety and colors i get to see when shopping for a client make me all giddy inside!! Thank you for tirelessly flipping through the stacks!

Designer Pro Tip: if you find a rug you really want, but it is too big for your space, have it cut to fit! We took this beautiful rug in today to have a couple of feet cut off one end so it will fit the clients space perfectly. I can't wait to see it in place un a few weeks!

"As we spend January 1st walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives...not looking for flaws, but for potential." -Ellen Goodman

My family thrives on our Christmas traditions. Putting up the tree the day after Thanksgiving, making treats for the neighbors and even a shrimp boil on Christmas eve to name a few. What are some of your fun family traditions you can't wait to share with your family this year? 🎄 #

This is a little collection of before and after photos of a small part of a whole house remodel we completed a few years ago. Look for the floor plans at the end. It was more than just color changes. We were able to help the client improve their quality of life with additional seating areas, getting rid of unusable spaces and WOW, check out that kitchen!!

Shopping for Tiles, Doors and a little "Horsing Around " was on the agenda yesterday. New house underway in Waco. Keep an eye open for construction shots as things start looking spectacular . Check out the horse mane in the last photo. It is so fun and unique.

Amazing and "moody" hill country ranch master bathroom in progress. Just wait till the white tub and waterfall faucet hit the black wall! It will be striking! I live watching my jobs come to life over the weeks (sometimes months).

I would like to title this photo "Artistic hallway with a side of Bling!" It is such a fun transition space from one side of the house to the other. The light fixtures are like jewelry.

Picking paint and stain colors to go with tile is so much fun! There are so many directions to go! For this bathroom the "Thunder Grey" will be an accent wall behind the tub. The Fresh Brew stain is for shelves in a niche.

Bright and fun kitchens are the best on a cold and rainy day! You can't help but feel the warmth radiating from this space. Bring me the hot cocoa while I sit at the barstool and enjoy the view!

Welcome to Texas Fall! I am excited for the cooler temps at night and the highlight of my favorite color palette! I am in love with this cowhide pillow found at Mitchell Gold. Welcome orangy-browns, light greys and blues and earthy tones.

Things you may not have thought of before on color v. bw in Film. The set for the Addam's Family TV series (1964) was a lot more colorful and pink than you probably thought. Since the show was filmed in black and white, the color scheme wasn't all that important. Another reason for having such a colorful set was due to how black and white film registers various colors. In order to get the right shade to appear on the film, a lot of the set (such as the pink wallpaper) was a strategic choice. (Written by Mark Pyland)

Saw this sign while on a trail ride in Palo Duro Canyon this weekend. This fits with so many facets of our lives. For Design, if you have started new construction or a remodel, it isn't the easiest experience of your life. There are contractors that don't show up, special order tile that gets dropped by the forklift on the way to your house, delays due to not enough workers, too much work, you name it. If you stay on the trail, your end product will have been worth the wait. Keep your eyes focused on your Beautiful Destination.

"Hanging the Family" Tree is one of my Families favorite Halloween traditions. With 4 kids and a dachshund, it takes a strong (and long) branch! We love decorating for Halloween almost as much as Christmas! There is no wrong way to decorate for Halloween. Just do what the (ghostly) spirit tells you to do...what are your Halloween decor traditions?!

It you ask one of my current clients what phrase I use the most, it would probably be, "not every item in a room can be a focal point!" That just means, you can have one or two main characters and the rest of the items need to play a supporting role. In this beautiful Powder Room, the fun and crazy countertop is no doubt the focal, while the backsplash, though striking on its own, plays a complimentary supporting role. I also love how the selections in this room draw you back to nature through their colors and designs.

What do Interior Designers do in their spare time? They sit in beautiful spaces and let the creative ideas flow. Helping each other solve design issues ✔, discuss business problems ✔, share resources ✔, enjoy each other over food and wine✔. We are missing two designers in this photo, but I love my Designer Tribe! We may all have a different aesthetic or way of doing things, but that is what makes us such great friends and colleagues in the end. (We are sitting outside for this gathering. No masks in the photo because we are eating. I promise they are beside us and we put them back on when we were finished.)

Fun with fountains going on this week! I cannot wait to see what my client selects while trying to keep the Mediterranean feel of his existing home. The cream and white have some bling-bling or the blue and green ones look like rippling waves. (2 tiles on ledge are being used in other areas of the courtyard)

I always enjoy a serious (actually, awkward) discussion about what toilet to buy for a house. We all have opinions, it just feels a little taboo to discuss sometimes. Save the world with a low flow but risk the multi-flush need, one or two button, to skirt or not to skirt, one piece vs. 2 piece, bidet feature added? Do you have a "private potty pact" vs. we are all open at our house. Are you squirming a little yet? As a designer we end up knowing a lot of intimate and important details about how you live so we can make your home your favorite place to be. Even in the water closet...Feel free to chime in on this subject. What do you look for in a toilet?

Fun with lighting again! This ranch house has an amazing ceiling with stained beams and a custom light layout on the center portion of the ceiling. I drew this one in a 3D program called Sketchup and adjusted it tirelessly until I felt it was perfect from every angle. This once again involved a scaffold and patient electrician to make it look as amazing as it does today. Also, sometimes it is fun to get away from the brass and whites to appreciate the deeper colors nature has to offer.
