This American Chesnut mantle was salvaged from my clients grandfathers home in upstate New York back around the turn of the century. I had the pleasure of restoring it and the privilege to work with this nearly extinct species almost 200 years since it was cut down!

American chestnut was victim of a blight in the early 1900s that wipes out million and millions of these trees. To my knowledge, only one stand remains in an undisclosed location in the Minnesota north woods.

It’s been a week of pretty darn hot days in the shop, but thrilled to be nearing the launch of the , reviewing drawings, and pulling material for the first few pieces!

If you (somehow) weren’t aware of the upcoming launch of our customizable tiles furniture line, it’s going to be a really accessible entry point into the world of custom furniture and interior design. Allie and I have put together some really sleek tile/wood combos allowing you to mix and match over 30 options/color pallets per piece!

Another one for the books! This build was a ton of fun and I feel so fortunate to be working in a town with a such a tradition of support for local designers and makers.

The R+R record cabinet, named for the clients who commissioned it, was an incredible gift of an opportunity to build something that not only reflected the clients’ style, but my own as well. No doubt that the joinery and form were heavily influenced by traditional design, but it feels good to bring them together in a way that feels somewhat unique.

It’s so fun to get the chance to take on more interesting work as our name gets out around town a bit more. Thanks to all of those out there who show support for your local designers and makers through ordering custom work, following on Instagram, and spreading the word in your communities. It is always appreciated and makes a big difference for us.
