During the pandemic, my friend Jet Baker told me he was painting a canvas a day - which he continued for over 400 days. Neither of us had really seen anyone or even left the house so I asked if he wanted me to come by and shoot some footage of his project. Here's the documentary that resulted from those visits:
One a Day Jet Baker created a news-related painting each day during the pandemic.

Not only does Michael Ferstenfeld make every media, he fixes it as well. In this case, one of the blades on the drone we were using came off after a gust of wind tossed it into a mud pit. Michael grabbed a new blade and a tiny screw from his case and performed the surgery. This, on top of performing in a scene with Shana Merlin for our new improvised feature. More updates to come.

Here's a short documentary project I put together about my mom. She didn't want to do it at first but when I started pointing the camera at her she got comfortable with it pretty fast.

Shooting has begun for an improvised feature we've been working on for a few months. This was the first scene we shot, and it was hot. A top-shelf July morning in Austin, Texas. Great performances from Kathy Rose Center, Tom Booker and Michael Ferstenfeld. Fitting it in where we can, it's fun to see the movie start to come together. More updates to follow.

Glad to announce that the new short documentary I made about my mom will screen at this year's San Antonio Film Festival. It's called "Garbage Days" and it's not necessarily a happy and positive 12 minutes, but it's the most personal movie I've made. More to come before the festival later this month.
