Fort Cavazos Soldiers and their families cheered on their favorite athletes Friday at the Phantom Warrior Lanes as they competed in the annual Texas Special Olympics Area 12 Bowling Tournament.
A culmination of 14 school districts and delegations in partnership with the Special Olympics and Exceptional Family Member Program on Fort Cavazos made for a packed venue for the two-day event, giving the Soldiers and their families a cheery respite from the hustle of holiday planning just a week before Thanksgiving.

Special Olympics Texas has received tickets to distribute to any of our athletes, coaches, delegations, families and any of our SOTX supporters at no charge. the 2024 All American Bowl scheduled for January 6th, 2024 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX. At Special Olympics Texas, we send our deepest sympathies to the family, friends, and fellow APD officers of Senior Police Officer Jorge Pastore who was killed in the line of duty early Saturday morning during a SWAT response. Another SWAT officer, also wounded in the incident, remains hospitalized.
As the community grieves and honors SPO Jorge Pastore, please note that the Special Olympics Texas Austin Breakfast with Champions, featuring and supported by LETR volunteers, originally scheduled for Friday, November 17th will be postponed to a later date.

The City of Richardson Corporate Challenge ended today, with a total amount raised of $177,378.00! The City of Richardson is celebrating 25 years of supporting Special Olympics Texas with a cumulative fundraising total of over $3 million.
